Gilbert Frank Scholl
Born in Richland Center, Wis. on Aug. 10, 1930
Departed on Sep. 17, 2008 and resided in Mosinee, WI.
Gilbert "Gib" F. Scholl, 78, Mosinee, formerly of Wausau, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 under the care of his two daughters, JoAnn and Ginger and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at his home.
He was born August 10, 1930 in Richland Center, son of the late Graydon and Clara (Bjugstad) Scholl.
Gib was an independent truck driver for the majority of his life and was the owner operator of the former Gil's Place, Wausau. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working for Swatloski Trucking and Excavating, Mosinee. Among his many interests, he enjoyed listening to polka music, attending church festivals, road trips, and spending time with his family, especially, his dog "Jack".
Survivors include, two daughters, JoAnn (John) Atkinson, Weston and Ginger (Dan) Gehri, Burr Oak, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Ricky Atkinson, Weston, Dan Gehri, Janesville, Amy Atkinson, Rib Mountain, Sarah Gehri, Janesville, Peter Atkinson, Weston, Ruby (Shaun) Van, Fort Wayne, Ind. and Tony Weseman, Richmond, Va.; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte (Floyd) Viney, Belleville, Wis.; and two brothers, Graydon "Junior" (Shirley) Scholl, Edgerton, Wis. and Graydon "Jack" (Janet) Strayton, California.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Rhonda and David Scholl; and two sisters, Evelyn Heth and Shirley Reuterskoild.
Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Mark Lewis will officiate. Burial will be on Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Albion-Prairie Cemetery, Albion, Wis. Friends may call Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, especially Ann, for all the loving care and support given to Gib and his family.
