Ron:

I'm glad to see you received my post. I had wondered for years who Winnifred was and how she might fit into the research I was doing on the Schooling family. I have been compiling the family for many years, and finally printed up what I had collected in 2002. I have added quite a lot since and still filling in blank spots. I would like to have a rundown on what family you have in the US, so I will know where the ones I find will fit.

Howard Boswell

Howard: Thank you for your post. Winnifred was my mother. My father, Arthur Frank Schooling, b 3/13/1898, died in Chicago in the 1980's also. Needless to say they were separated (by 2000 miles). I can supply you more data on the family if you desire. Let me know. Thanks again. Ron Schooling

Howard...I'm sure that you're aware of the British birth registery at Caxton Hall (I think that's the name of the place)in London. They are pretty thorough and births go back many centuries. Stay in touch and thanks for the information.

Ron

Ron:

Thanks for the rundown, I has seen your son Neil in Tucson as an Education & Management person. I an just a bit older than you, b July 14 1930. My Schooling line goes back , as far as we can find so far, to Montgomery co.,PA, when Francis Schooling married Elizabeth Powel Mar 21 1751. I have brought the family forward to the present generations. My connection is from my GG grandmother Sarah Schooling who married Albert Boswell in 1845. We believe Francis Schooling came from England, but so far have not been able to find him before his marriage. I forgot to change my e-mail addres on the last message, in my wifes name.
Howard Boswell

Howard: I live in Decatur, Alabama. I am one of two children of Winnifred and Arthur. We emigrated to the United States in 1948 from Surrey, England. My one sibling is Joyce Wargin, b 8/20/1927, who is now living in Rio Vista, California.

I have two children. Neil, b 10/6/61, living in Tucson, Arizona, married with one adopted child who maintains her original name. My daughter Kim, b 2/27/1966, is single and lives in San Francisco.

My sister also has two children whose birthdays I am not sure of. Alec Hughes, single, and living in San Franciso, and Jennifer Hughes, divorced and living in Las Vegas. She has two children.

I can provide rather vague information on relatives living in the UK is you desire, but I must emphasize that it is sketchy.

I will be happy to provide you with any information that you consider relevant.

Regards,

Ron (email: sakulin@yahoo.com)

Howard, Thank you so much for your help. Your Information has helped me a great deal. I had a hard time finding George's Death Certificate. Because of bad handwriting he was listed as Gerge Baily. He died 5 JAN 1912 in a Mining Accident, according to his death certificate it was a dirt cave-in. I am still organizing but in the very near future I will send you all the info I have. I have a picture of George and his wife Amanda Josephine Elliott and her family.
I will be contacting you again soon. Judi

I am looking for information on my Great-Grandfather George R Bailey b. 22 Sept 1873, d. 5 Jan 1912 in a mining accident in Lawrence County, Missouri. on his Death Certificate his Parents are listed as William Folden Bailey and Elizabeth Schooling Bailey. At the time of his death this information was supplied by my Great-Grandmother Amanda Elliott Bailey. William and Elizabeth are both buried in the Schooling Cemetery 5 miles north of Pierce City, Missouri. Elizabeth Schooling's Parents were John Logan Schooling and Rebecca Cagle Schooling. They are also buried in Schooling Cemetery. I have not been able to locate George R Bailey's Burial Information. Also I have not found any information regarding Children being born to William Folden Bailey and Elizabeth Schooling. I am wondering if he was really their child? or perhaps he was just raised by them. I will greatly appreciate any information. Thank you Judi Wilson

Re: Schooling born London 1931, now living USA

Ron:

I have researched the Schooling family in the states for 30 years. But I have nothing on those in England. We believe our Francis Schooling was from over there but do not know where. He married in PA. in 1751. I have been writing to all the Schooling's I find in the US to add their genealogy to what I am ready to print. Evidently I missed you. There are a few who are not related to our branch in the US. Most of those coming on later years. There is a lady in Australia who is searching for English Schooling's. Perhaps she would know something. Howard Boswell
