When I researched the 1930 census record, I found my Margaret Steig Pierre (age 75) living with Matt (age 49) and Catherine Schott (age 40) and their children: Joseph, Lena, Edward, Herman, Genevieve, and Helen. TIPTON, Iowa -- Lena Elizabeth Schott, 86, 1790 Highway 130, Tipton, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, of cancer.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tipton. Monsignor Francis Henricksen will officiate. Burial will be at Inland Cemetery, Bennett.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. She was born on Nov. 18, 1915, in Tipton, the daughter of Henry and Katherine Kleppe Krummel. She married Harry L. Schott on Feb. 3, 1940, in Lisbon.

She graduated from Mechanicsville High School.

She was a farmer.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Guild.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Marie Rena Schott Flockhart of Tipton; three sons, Louis Henry Schott of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Dwayne Bernard Schott of Fort Meyers, Fla. and Marvin Leander Schott of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ralph and Alfred Krummel.

I have a Jacob Muller (Miller) arriving at New York on 30 Aug 1845 on the ship Colchis - They had a daughter, Catherine Muller who was 18 at that time I see on the 1870 Census there is an Andrew Shot and a katherine Shot. on the 1860 Census I found Andrew Scott 38 and Catharine Scott 34 And on the 1850 census Andrew Schott 28 Catharine Schott 24 The Marriage date I have is 15 Nov 1846 - Any Possibility that there is a link here?

Had more than 2 children. They were Elsie, Martha, Bertha, Fred and Helena.
Martha was my grandmother. Your mother was Carol Schott, daughter or Fred and a cousin of my father Frank George Nagele.
I knew your mother when we were children. I've just recently started working on the family tree again, Haven't done much since 1991 which was the first time I worked on it. I have some but not total information on all five children and off spring and one brother of Emil's, whose name was Otto.
I'd be interested to know more about Emil's first wife, I've never heard of her before.

I have been researching the Schott tree and only find 1880 census with parents Stanislas (Stanley) Schott and Anna Wentland. Born in Bavaria. Nothing previous. Do you have any further information. I do have some pictures of the Brandon and Schott family. Bessie is the daughter of Willard.

Bessie Brandons mother was named Lida. However I do know that Willard remarried to a woman who was a doctor in Provo. (Remember my dad talking about her) Don't know her name but could it possibly be Effie? Willard had daughters named Bessie, Pearl and Grace. Don't know if any of this helps.

Sorry, guess we are researching other families. I found in 1900 census Denver Colo. Willard Brandon-45-B. Penn. marr. to Effie (Hammond) Thayer-43-B.N.Y.along with Effie's 2 sons William Thayer- 12 & Leanord Thayer- 11 both B.N.Y.listed as stepsons . Also listed Grace Brandon-15-Kansas Daughter.

More on John (Jean Baptiste) Schott of San Antonio. His father Michel Schott (born 1810)brought his family over to US. Michel Schott brought his cousin - our Francois Anton Schott to America on the same ship. Francois Anton Schott's father was also a Michel Schott. I have a lot more information on the Schott family of San Antonio. See St. Louis Catholic Church record "first census" showing the Michel Schott family with 3 children living. Church records also have death notice for Rosine. Agnes Schuback was from the New Braunfels family and is buried with John Schott. Also buried in lot is Mother Caroline Schott. She belonged to religious order.

Looking for the families of the children of Wassil Schott and Anna Scsambora. Mary, Wassil and John were born between 1905 and 1909 in Freeland/Drifton area of Pennsylvania. They were placed in the care of the Children's Aid Society of Philadelphia after the death of their mother in 1910 and were adopted by different families. John was adopted by the John and Laura Furniss family of Tayloria, PA. Wassil and Anna were both of Austria/Slovakian descent. Wassil schott immigrated to the US in 1902.

I am the grandson of Edwin Dilts Schott, Sr. The information you currently have is correct.
His father was Edwin Bear Schott, b. Apr 9, 1838 in Waterloo, Senaca Co NY and d. May 30, 1919 in Sabinsville, Tioga Co Pa and his mother was Florence Olivia Gill, b. Jan 19, 1862 in Harrison Twp Potter Co Pa and d. Apr 18,1943 in Sabinsville. He served in France during WWI and got his teaching degree from Bucknell University and his first position was in Durant City where he met Victoria Cannon, daughter of Frank D Cannon and Rebecca Samsel, and they married Jul 26, 1923.
They had three children: Edwin D Jr b. May 11, 1924, Frederick b. Jan 9, 1930 both in Durant City, and James May 19, 1934 in Olean NY.
Edwin left Durant City about 1930 and would have been the principal in Oswayo Valley School District Shinglehouse Pa (near Olean NY) during the most of the 1930's. I believe he left there for Liberty Pa, but was only there for a year or so and was principal of Galeton School Dist, Potter Co Pa from abt 1940 until his retirement in the late '50's. I'm sure I would be able to come up with a picture or two for you.

I am not related in anyway to the Schott genealogy. I am compiling a booklet about former rural and early school teachers once of Elk and several nearby counties. The name, Edwin Dilts Schott, was listed as the Principal of the Durant City (now James City), Pa public school located in Elk County, Pa. The dates he was the Principal included 1923, 1925, 1927 and 1929.Possibly he could have been Principal longer but in 1934 his son, James W. Schott, was born May, 19 in Olean, Catt. County, NY so one could assume by that year he and his wife were residents of that area. According to RootsWeb.com World Connect site Edwin Dilts Schott was born May 14, 1895 in Sabinsville, Tioga county, Pa, died Dec. 21, 1964 in Buffalo, NY with interment Galeton, Potter county, Pa. I would like to find out if Princpal Edwin Dilts Schott continued his career as an educator and if so, the names of the schools where he was located. Also, I would like to find out about his educational background.
The ultimate find would be to receive a copy of a picture of him as a young student, normal school gradaute (Mansfield, Pa) or a picture of him sometime during his teaching career.
His wife's name was Victoria (nee Cannon) daughter of Rebecca Cannon who was born March, 1874 in Center County, Pa, died in Durant City, Pa ...obit published Durant City Gazette on April, 1927. Her husband was F.D. Cannon.

This past week I've started researching the SCHOTT and REIDLIN families of Covington, KY. Lucille (Lucy), daughter of the owner of the Bavarian Brewery in Covington, married William Schott. She is mentioned in obituaries of the family.
My interest is Rosemary Nonna Reidlin who married Murray VORHEES, son of Stanley Vorhees and his wife, Alice V. M. MAYNARD. I am primarily a MAYNARD researcher, but found this Reidlin/etal research very interesting.
I believe the William Riedlin (Vorhees?) you mentioned as having family information is dead. Perhaps one of his 4 children could help.
In the meantime, thank you for this fine assistance. I had Mrs. William Schott but not which daughter married him. Now I know it is Lucy (on the census), Lucielle.

That story is from the book "Hisory of New Franken, WI" which is sitting on my desk right now. The only (small)conflict I have is that Ancestry.com has a ship list showing the group of families that came over together (including Andrew Schott) and the date they have for the arrival in New York is June 24, 1845. The arrival date Ship name are not shown on the online image so I don't know if it was transcribed correctly.

I have a marriage date for them as Nov 14 1846. My project this week is digging through my papers and documenting my sources, but I haven't found that record yet (Sorry).

I am trying to find Vera M or Marguerite Jordan born in 1910 in Boone, IA. died in 1931 possibly in Muscatine, IA but buried in Mineral Ridge Cemetery in Ridgeport, IA. she was only 21 and had a daughter who could've married a SCHOTT. I don't have a marriage for Vera. Her parents were Arron "Peter" Pierce Jordan and julia Evelyn Bass, both from Boone, IA. My research shows that they began their trip from Taubersretterheim, Germany on May 8, 1945. They traveled to Wertheim by wagon. From here they went down the River Main by river boat to Frankfurth, then to Rotterdam down the Rhine River. From the Dutch seaport they went to Harve. Leaving this harbor, they sailed across the Atlantic in a three-masted schooner to New York. From here they sailed up the Hudson River. From Albany they went through the Erie Canal to Buffalo. They then traveled from Buffalo across Lake Erie and Lake Huron then through the Strait of Machinac on a lake vessel. Their journey was over June 10, 1845.

I'm getting this information off of a junior high project I had to do. Unfortunately, I didn't note where on earth I got the data. I hope it helps you.

Can you tell me any information about Andrew Schott and Kathyrn Miller? Dates of birth, marriage, death etc. I am an descendant of their son Wendell.

If you are interested, I have written what I know about the Shutt/Shott/Schott etc family in Northampton County in the 1700s (the period I have been researching) in a report that is posted on the ShuttDescendants EGroup on Yahoo Groups. I have followed very few Schotts into the 1800s but you might be able to use my sources and info to make connections. My Grandmother Amelia Ann Riedlin Axmann was Lucielle Riedlin cousin. My mother has pictures where she and her mother visited Pine Meer. We have pictures of Pine Meer, pictures of William Riedlin and his brother August Riedlin which was my great grandfather.

August married Anna Dausch from Indiana.
