It would be interesting to put together a genealogy of this Dutch Reform family. While I have little to offer on later SCHOUTEN family members, some new info has come to light in the Church records of the presbyterian/dutch reform churches along the Hudson river valley.
Ephraim, the SCHOUTEN who I queried of earlier, was born at Brinkerhoffville, in the Town of Fishkill, as recorded at the Presbyterian Church there 17 Sept. 1758. That may be a bapt date, his birth date is recorded in our family papers as the 3rd. Ephraim is the son of Willem or William SCHOUTEN as recorded.
Willem SCHOUTEN has a birth recorded in the Kingston Baptismal Register 2 Feb 1729. a son of Johannes SCHOUTEN and Grietjen Schut. It's the earliest I've been able to reach thus far.
For those descendents of Ephraim and Sarah (LaDue) SCHOUTEN of Half Moon NY this should prove interesting.
