Donald W. Schreier
UNADILLA — Donald W. "Tug" Schreier, 71, of Shamrock Trailer Park, Unadilla, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at his home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1928, in the town of Colchester, the son of John and Mildred (Ellet) Schreier.
He was married to Gladys M. Pilkerton, June 4, 1950, in Beltsville, Md. Mrs. Schreier, died March 16, 1994.
He served in the United States Army from 1946-1947, and from 1950-1952.
He has been a 24-year resident of Unadilla and had previously lived in Deposit and Walton.
He was a retired employee of the Laborer's Union Local No. 7 of Binghamton.
Mr. Schreier is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Gloria and Robert Coffey of Unadilla and Donna Dailey of Harpursville; a son, Donald W. Schreier Jr. of Unadilla; two brothers, Paul Schreier of Florida and Jack Schreier of Greenville, S.C.; four sisters, Buelah Kerschner of Walton, Jean Barnes of Chambersburg, Pa., Bonnie Yale and Joan Cotton of Unadilla; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Hiller Fuller.
Funeral and committal services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at the Westcott Funeral Home, 112 Main St., Unadilla, with the Rev. R. Michael Amos, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Unadilla, officiating. Burial will be later in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla.
Friends may call at the funeral home, Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at their convenience and the family will be in attendance from 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral arrangements are by the Westcott Funeral Home, Unadilla.
