Sanson would have been my gggrandfather. Eliza Jane or as she was commonly called, Jane was my ggrandmother on my father's side. I have done some research and have some info on that. I also have a photo of Jane and possibly a photo of Sanson and Sarah. If this helps please email me at hocreagan6@yahoo.com and I will send you copies of the photos.

Sanson's son John Dewey Schrock 1869-1936 married Arminta Myrtle Steward 1870-1960 & had 7 children-David Raul 1893-1917, Elmer Leslie 1895-1971, Ellis 1898-1955, Walter Robert 1901-1970, Neal Kenneth 1905-1965, Agnes 1908-2003, & Arminta-1912-?. I have a little further information if your interested. Sanson was my wife's GGgrandfather. I would also be interested in learning about Eliza Jane. My father in law would get a kick out of learning about that part of the family.

For those interested, I am Stuart Raymond Schrock, first son of Raymond Eblyn (sp) Schrock. Edward is my grand dad and Era is my grandmother on my father's side. Opal, Thelma and Orba Lee are my aunts. My father first married Barbara (who's last name I don't know). He then married another lady from Texas but they had no off spring. Later he married my mother Maitland Kinlaw of Lumberton, North Carolina. From his union with Barbara he produced one child, Suzanne who I stay in contact with. I have one blood brother, Alan Kevin Schrock.

No doubt to me as to the correct identity. How can I help?

Stu Schrock
stuschrock@sbcglobal.net

I've been investigating this also. Edward did marry Phoebe. It was believed that she died before 1884, but I found a cemetery record of her death which state, wife of Edward M Schrock. She died 18 Aug 1856. They had three boys, John A. Schrock, Charles Schrock, and James Schrock. 1850, 1853, and 1856 respectively. Since she died in 1856 one could assume it was in childbirth. John A died, and he is buried in the same cemetery as his mother. Died 21 Jan 1868. I don't know what happened to Charles. James went to live with his grandparents, John and Susan Critchfield.
I have a theory about what happened to James but I'd feel more comfortable discussing when I've found more information. HOpe this helps. If you are a descendent, I am too!

Aaron Schrock and his wives Catherine (Meyers) Scrock and Mary (Smith) Schrock are buried in the Mount Union Cemetery in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, Somerset County, Pa. I found out Mary's maiden name through family files. Mount Union cemetery was listed as Mount Hope. In some files Mount Union was listed as Mount Hope. There was no cemetery by the name of Mount Hope ever listed in the area. Tracy.

In the "Amish and Amish Mennonite Genealogies" by Hugh F. Gingerich and Rachel W. Kreider, the following is listed:

SK119+ Schrock, Aaron m Meyers, Catherine 10/10/1805 - 12/14/1840 sp

SK 1191 Carolina sp Lynn, William ni 1826 - Iowa

SK1192 Edward M sp 10/ 8/1828- ____, Phoebe p ca 1828-
marriage 2 ____, Lydia p ca 1842-

SK1193 Amos sp 2/29/1832- 1905 ds

SK1194 William sp 8/17/1837- 1929 Foy, Mary E. p ca 1840 - 1912 sp

Aaron m2 ______, Mary p ca 1806

They did not list Mary's surname either.

Aaron's earliest anscestor listed in this book (if I am reading this correctly) goes back to Nicholas Schrag. I am related to the Nicholas Shrag line too. The SK initial means they related back to Nicolas Shrag. He is the first listed for that line.

I also checked in the book, "Descendants of Barbara Hochstedler and Christian Stutzman" but the Aaron Schrock in that book does not seem to relate to your "Aaron." If I come across any more records pertaining to your question, I will let you know. There is quite a lot of information on the Nicholas Shragg" line at the Latter Day Saints Family History Center. Have you checked on their online website?

Norma

Re: Solomon Schrock

I always have to open my database and check it to answer any questions. If I try to answer off the top of my head, I'm always confused about something I'm sure that I know.

The Shrocks gradually dispersed among Tipton, Miami, and Howard counties. I believe that there were also counties created and boundaries redrawn.

I don't have a burial or death site for Benjamin except Indiana. His wife Mary Keck Shrock died in 1868 in Miami county. Benjamin passed in 1900. Henry died in Liberty Twp, Howard county. William Howard died in Kokomo.

William is an enigma because his marriage to my great grandmother was short and shotgun, ending in divorce. He never remarried and seems not to have had other children. He lived into the 1940's, but the census records found on him don't make sense. He might have gone to live with his mother who may have remarried, but I've got little information on him.

I live in Texas now, but I lived in Kentucky for 25 years after growing up in PA and I didn't get deeply into (successfully) genealogical research until we moved here about 7 years ago. I was born in IN, but only lived there until I was four.

My dad was born in New Haven, Allen CO in 1935. His father grew up on his maternal grandmother's farm in the Converse area before he moved to Fort Wayne to work for Harvester.

I don't believe that the Shrock cemetery has been documented and made accessible on line yet. The Converse Cemetery has been and there are three different phases available on line. I've found a lot of dead relatives there. A lot of my relatives seem to have been buried in IOOF cemeteries as well.

He came to America in 1848 and landed in Milwaukee, moved to Galena, Ill, then Fremont, Ill and in 1852 to Hopedale, Ill. He married Magdelena Schrock born in March about 1924 in Bavaria, Germany. I have record that they had 7 children, Christian, Jacob, Joseph, Barbara, John, Noah Jr., and Daniel. For Noah's siblings, I have Christian, Jacob and John and 2 sisters in Bavaria. Do you know when Jacob came to America? Do you know who their parents were?
I have Magdelena's parents as Joe and Barbara Schrock.
Does anyone know of an Emmaretta/Emmaratta/Emmeretta Schrock who died May 27, 1973 in Frankfort, Benzie, MI

I found her name in an obit for Jessie Dodd who died Aug., 1957 in Ludington, MI. Emmeretta is listed as being a niece along with another niece Miss Ellen Ailesworth & a nephew Lon Ailesworth. Jessie Dodd was a daug. of George Thorn who was my ancestor's brother. These 3 names are new to me and if possible I would like to have an obit for this Emmeretta.

The Soc. Sec. Death Index shows Emmaretta Schrock born Dec. 5, 1890, died in Frankfort, but her address was Empire, Leelanau, MI, which goes along with the 1957 obit for her aunt Jessie Dodd. The MI Deaths for 1971-1996 have her name as Emmaratta I. Schrock with same dates & addresses.

I would appreciate any help. Thank you, Betty Macdonald

I can not find a death date for Solomon.....He is buried in the Schrock Cenertary in Peru with Nancy....but no knows when he died......If any one can help with information on Lydia Working and Solomons death or anyother information I would be grateful........Thank you...
