SCHROEDER -- Tough nuts to crack!!!

My husband is Ronald Douglas SCHROEDER (DOB 10Mar1957 Ogden Utah), two sisters LeeAnn (older) and Julie (younger). My husband and I have two sons Douglas Lee SCHROED and Darryl Scott SCHROEDER. My husband's Father is Melvin Lee SCHROEDER (Born in Nebraska). He married Beverly May GOODELL of Utah. Melvin's Father is Philip Sheridan SCHROEDER (DOB 13Apr1894 probably born in Germany). We think his parents emigrated with him and that he was not born here in the states. Philip married Deane (or Vera Dean) Scudder In Central City Nebraska. They Had two sons Melvin Lee was the youngest. The oldest, Douglas, was killed at the age of nine by a drunk driver. Philip, Deane and their remaining son, Melvin, moved to Utah shortly thereafter. Philip, Deane and thier oldest son, Douglas, are all buried at the cemetary in Grand Island Nebraska.
My difficulty is in locating Philip's parents. My husband believes (through the faded family grapevine) that they came from Hamburg but he is not certain if they were actually from Hamburg. It is believed that they landed on Ellis Island but that two is uncertain. I have no names for either of Philip's parents but I do know that they settled in Nebraska, probably around Central City where his future wife's family was. Someone help me! I always said that these Schroeder males would one day drive me crazy and now I'm sure of it  ;}

I’m searching for Edward N. Schroeder/Schrader born about 1928 in Buffalo, Erie, NY. He was the son of Edward T and Florence Baranowski Schroeder/Schrader. Family members have provided two different spelling variations on this surname and I have been unable to confirm which one is correct. Edward N went by the nickname of Sonny as a child. His mother, Florence Baranowski, was born in 1909 in Erie, PA and moved to Buffalo area in 1920, when her mother, Mary Mankowski-Baranowski remarried a Joseph Nowacki. Florence died sometime between 1930-1931 from TB.

Bekky Tatar-Kinsey
bekkin@comcast.net

POW/MIA Korean War SCHROEDER

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave Juneau County, Wisconsin as his home of record. His remains were never recovered. The Casualty Office has no family contact.

Soldier: FLOYD MARVIN SCHROEDER
Born: 1928
Date of loss: June 11, 1952

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. The SCHROEDER family is one of those missing.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
Schroeders in Chicago and Minnesota

I am researching many Schroeders that I believe are all connected. Theodore b. abt. 1816 and Johanna b. abt 1827 were the parents of Henry C., Charles F., Louis, William, and August. Based on a census, though, Johanna had 7 children so there may be more. Charles and Louis lived in Perham, MN. Charles did live in Bloomington, IL when he first arrived. Some of Louis' children came to Chicago (thier mother's remarried name was Keidel). Louis' children are Henry, Louis, Walter, and Sylvia. One of Walter's children told me she had an Uncle Henry and Aunt Mary who owned a salon in Skokie. Back to Henry C. It appears he only lived in Chicago. Came with Theodore on a ship in 1869. He was a fireman/Capt. I think his wife was Louisa and children Herman, Wilhelm, Charles, and Lilly. In 1880, Theo, wife, and two youngest are living with Louis in Perham, but I know they end up in Chicago. Theo. dies in Chicago in 1892. Can't tie a William or August to anyone after 1880. There is more, but that's a start. Anyone know this group?

Schroeder family in Lemont and Blue Island, IL from Prussia

I'm looking for information on my great grandmother's family. Her maiden name was Caroline Marie Fried Schroeder (1848-1925). According to her 1876 marriage certificate from Lemont,IL, she was from Kronsberg, prov, Pommern, Prussia. Carl and Johann Schroeder were witnesses at the wedding. I assume they were relatives (father and brother?). Her first marriage was to Johann Georg Theodor Schultz of New Bresslin, prov. Pommern, Prussia, Germany. He died in 1879. They had two children, one of whom was my grandfather. Census records say she immigrated in 1874, however that may have been when her second husband immigrated.

So far I've found the following siblings for Caroline:

John Carl Schroeder (1858-1922) - According to census records he was born in Prussia. He lived in Danville, IL but died in Rochester, MN (presumably seeking medical treatment for cancer). He is buried in Mount Greenwood Cemetery in IL.

Charlotte Schroeder Schultz - Married Charles Schultz sometime before 1872 in Prussia. Immigrated to IL between 1872-1875 (going by where her children were born). Died sometime between 1877-1979. Family history says she died around the same time as Caroline's husband (1879). Widowed Caroline babysat for her children and eventually married Charles and had more children. I cannot find Charlotte or Johann Schultz in IL death records indices.

Helen Schroeder - My aunt said she was named for Caroline's dead sister Helen. Not known if she died in Prussia or IL. My aunt was born in 1905.

The first census to show Caroline is 1880. She and Charles Schultz (misspelled Sholts) were living in the town of Felix in Grundy, IL. Obituaries for their children say they lived in Braidwood, IL before moving to Blue Island/Morgan Park, IL where Caroline lived until her death.

I found a Caroline Marie F. Schroeder, born about 1849, in Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s who immigrated in 1854. Given the other information I have, I assume this is not my Caroline since the immigration date is much earlier than census records indicate and the siblings don't match any names I've heard.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I am at my wites end trying to figure out who this man is. He supposedly served (according to my great aunt) as a military base, and died of a heart attack early, leaving his wife Josephine Wolff von und zu Todenwarth, with little money, causing her to have to sell the family estate, Schloss Todenwarth. It's now a rather historical place: see http://www.todenwarth.de/history.html (if you can read German, or at least you can see the pictures, if not)

For all of their information, go here: http://www.bbtutor.com/gentree/html/fam00179.htm

Schroeder Inquiry - Wisconsin Connection

I'm relatively new at this so any help is appreciated. I'm searching for lineage on Martin Christian Schroeder born in 1881 who married a Caroline McNett. I've been told his father, Christian, served in the Civil War. In my searches, I've come across a Christian (Frederich?) Schroder who served in the Civil War and married a Lisette, but I can't confirm whether this is the same Christian as I don't see any mention of their children. Martin had siblings named Carl, George, and Julia (believe she married a man with the surname Beavers). If any of this is familiar I would be grateful for any shared knowledge. Thank you.

Oscar Schroeder

I have a picure of Oscar Schroeder which was taken about 1910 (based on when the photo shop was in business). This picture was found in the collection of Amaila Lemke whose moher-in-law was Amelia Ukro Lemke. Amelia's mother was a Schroeder.

Oscar Schroeder Faribault, Minn. was written on the back of the picture.

I have a public tree with Oscar, his wife and children listed. The information is based on a 1920 Federal Census for Faribault, Minn.

I need help in linking Oscar to the Lemke's of Meservey, Iowa and the Ukro's of Ackley, Iowa.

Caroline Schroeder of Prussia and Chicago, IL

I'm looking for information on my ggrandmother Caroline Schroeder. She was born in Prussia in October 1848. I assume she married her first husband before immigrating, but not 100% sure of that. She died before 1930 in Cook county, IL (either Blue Island or Chicago) and was married to her second husband, Charles Schultz, then.

Allegedly Charles' first wife was Caroline's sister and Caroline's first husband was related to Charles (not sure how). They all immigrated from Prussia around 1874 and settled in IL. Caroline's first husband died in 1878 or 1879 in Lemont, IL. She married Charles around 1880. Both had children from their first marriages, as well as some together.

Married names of children were Feddeler, Huebner, and Soltow.

If any of this sounds familiar, please contact me.

I believe they resided in Michigan.

If you know anything about this family, or are from this family, I would really like to hear from you.

My connection is through Edith's aunt, Anna Koeninger Flint.

Chicago Schroeders

I am looking for any information for a William Henry Schroeder, b. 1841, Hanover, Germany. William Schroeder had a store at 841 W. Division St., Chicago, ILL. in 1880's and 1890's. I have a picture of him standing in front of this store. His possible parents are a H. Heinrch and Mary Schroeder and a sister named Dora.

William and Emma Schroeder had 8 children: Rosa, Emma, Herman, Lydia, Louis, Clara, Herbert & Anna.

After William Schroeder died in 1896, Emma did sewing at the store for extra money she then remarried and moved to Iowa.

I have had two birth years for this William Schroeder, 1841 from his death record & 1855 Iowa Census. If he was born in 1841, he was much older than Emma, b. 1857.

Any info or help is welcome. Also E-mails are welcome:
BerryglenPlace@aol.com

Thanks to all who can help on brick walls.

Hattie, Eddie & Harry Schroeder,b.1885-1890, ch. of John/Lotta Schroeder of Scott Co., IA

I have an original Cabinet Card photograph of “Hattie, Harry and Ed Schroeder”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in about 1890-1895, in Davenport (Scott Co.) IA, and Hattie looks about 10, Ed about 8 and Harry about 6 yrs. old.

I found two of the children in the Scott Co., IA state census of 1895. They lived in Davenport, IA, and were children of John H. Schroeder (33 in 1895) and “Lotts” (probably Lotta, and she was age 36 in 1895). Eddie was age 10 (and the oldest child listed – so had Hattie died?); next was Harry, age 7, then Henry, 5, and Ella, 4.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Hattie, Ed and Harry Schroeder of Davenport, IA.

I currently have Mr. Schroeder's American naturalization papers (1864) . The wedding certificate (I believe)of John & Anna. The birth certificate or baptismal certificate for their son Robert . These people moved to central Alberta in the early 1900's. They also went by the name Schrader. I would love dearly to give these to their desendants.

Schroeder in Illinois, perhaps Peoria area

In 1867 Johann Wolle and his daughter Dora / Dorothy came to the US from Ebstorf, Kreis Uelzen, Hannover, Germany. They apparently lived in the Chicago-Kankakee area for awhile, as she was godmother at my grandmother's (Anna RIECKMANN) baptism there in early 1869. Grandmother had Schroeder cousins from the Peoria area, so I'm trying to connect my WOLLE family with SCHROEDER to search for living cousins. Any connections?

James-William Allender m Irene Schroeder

Hi,
Looking for info on Irene Schroeder. Born some time in late 1800's or early 1900's.
I have no info on her except she was my grandfathers first wife and was killed in a driving accident with her brother. James Allender was b. in TN. in 1896 and was in WW1, I am not sure at all of m. dates or when she died. James William remarried in 1940, so I guessing around 1920 for marriage. And she was probably a young woman.
Would truly appreciate any info if any one has Irene in there tree.
Thank You,
Christy
