I am researching the surname SHOOKMAN (SCHUCKMAN, SHUPMAN, etc.) My g.g.grandfather, Philip SCHUCKMAN (later SHOOKMAN) was b.1834 in Franklin Co., PA and had at least one brother, John, b.1831 also in Franklin Co., PA. Their parents (names unknown) moved abt. 1847 to Allen Co., IN where Philip and John both married. About 1867 Philip moved to Richland Co., WI and John appears to have followed shortly thereafter. This family appears to have its roots in Prussia (Germany) with emigration to the US before John's birth in 1831. I would be very interested to speak with anyone have information about this family, other siblings of Philip and John, or their parents names. I have a good bit of descendant lineage to share/swap.
