I have family Shue?shoe/ from Germany
There were seven boys that came over in the 1700's I was told.
It was because of their faith. Do you have any info.

Hi Tim, so nice to hear from you. You are my father's (Joseph Schuh b-1920 d-2004) 5th cousin once removed. I have no idea how you know that, but you told me that several years ago. I lost your email address when my computer crashed and put aside much of my research after that, but am once again trying to uncover my lineage. I recently uncovered a picture of my grandfather's (Anton) brother (August Schuh). He was born in 1896 (Gamshurst) and died in 1983. The bottom of the picture (I think a prayer page from a funeral home or something...said "im kreiskrankenhaus in Achern")...is that a town? My Dad called him Uncle Gus. My Dad was born in 1920 and I know baptised in a catholic church I believe in Sasbach. Do you know if there are many churches (catholic) in Sasbach? I would love to know where he was baptised. His aunt was a nun. I'm thinking her convent must have been in Sasbach. I know my Dad occasionally spoke of a Magdala (sp?) who was also his aunt. My grandfather married Josefine Riehle (I believe she was also from Sasbach)...one of 14 children (the 7th) One of her sisters was Anna Riehle married Adolf Lamm from Obersasbach, another Emma Riehl married Joseph Abele...brothers, Franz, Josef, Sasbach, and Bernard who married a Maria Ann geb (kurtz). Another name listed as a relative was Erin Zorn of Sasbach but I do not get the connection. My Dad and his half sister came over 1928 on March 22, 1928 on the Dresden. My grandparents before, but I cannot find any passage lists bearing their names (1923-1924).
How are you related to Anton? Do you have a family tree?

I do not have any information after Anton's birth, and I didn't realize he married in Sasbach, so I'd be interestd in learning about his descendancy. Looking for any relatives Anton Schuh, born Gamshurst 12-7-1887, married Josephine Riehle (Sasbach), one child:
Joseph born 1920. Josephine one of 14 children. Came to America 1923-1924. Joseph stayed in Germany until 1928.
Lived with "Uncle Carl" and a nun (Josephine's sister).
I believe Anton was baptized at St. Nicholas church in
Gamshurst. Anyone somehow related?

I think you want to talk to Mike Schuh who replied to the post a few years ago and talked about 7 sons. Also Shirley Wiseman (?) seemed to be on that same branch. I think I came to the conclusion that although they could be distant relatives, it was another branch my Schuh's came from.

mike I think i have talked with you before.
The family you found in Germany sounds like what my grandpa
told me about.
they had seven boys one was Jacob could have been John Jacob
and he just cut it short here.they came from Germany also.
I have not been able to find seven boys before.
mine changed their name to Shue/Shoe.
Jacob and wife lived in PA I think York co. or Dauphin Co.
there was 9-10 childen.
My grandpa born 1811 in PA Abraham.
Could you give me any light on my seven sons?

Looking for information on Fred Schuh, born NY abt 1862, married Mattilda?, daughters include, Anne, Carrie, Emma, Mary and Florence, also a son, John W. Schuh, John died in 1918 in Springfield, Mass. Family seems to have been in Tenafly, New Jeresy for most of their years.

I think I'm also decended from this line. I believe my great-great-grandfather was Joseph Schuh from Buffalo (as your other posts here suggest for you as well). My great-grandfather was William Schuh(1882-1962) of Buffalo, but I've yet to be able to make the direct connection to Joseph Schuh. Any help in confirming this connection would be appreciated.

I started the Shew/Schuh thread quite a while ago and since that time I traveled to Baden Baden and have received a lot of information about my Philadelphia/Montgomery County relatives.

So I don't think it is the same Schuh's who lived in NC earlier than 1850. However, are you able to see the early replies to my thread which included information about NC Schuh's?

August and Jessie were witnesses at my GGF wedding in Glasgow Scotland in 1894. The marriage was between Otto Schuh and Olivia McKenzie. I have the marriage document. I am researching Otto Schuh and his father Joseph. I have no info on them. Any info on them would be greatly appreciated.

My Heinrich Schuh was born in Stollhofen, Baden in 1808. He emigrated to Cincinnati around 1834-5 and married a Maria Barbara Katz in Cincinnati(?). This couple eventually settled in New Alsace, Dearborn County, Indiana. I'm sorry to say that I do not have a Heinrich Schuh who married a Susanna.

I am researching my grandfather Carl Martin Schuh b.1895 d.1968 and his brother Albert Otto Schuh b.1897 d.1917 (WWI)
Their father is Otto Schuh. I have a marriage license for Otto and Olivia McKensie dated 1894 in Glasgow, Scotland at age 34. His father is recorded on it as Joseph and mother Wilhelmina (Gempler). It also has witnesses of August and Jessie Schuh. August could be August Wilhelm Schuh. I have no other info on them. My GF moved to Glasgow from Friburg, Germany. Then his brother and him went to Hatley Canada around 1912. They joined the CEF in WWI on Feb 1916. Albert was killed in France in 1917. I am researching my ancestry and I have no info on my GGF Otto Schuh and beyond. I really could use some help as I have no other info other than most of my family at that time were in Germany or possibly some in Scotland.

My grandfather, Joseph Francis Schuh arrived in NYC aboard the Kaiser Wilhelm II from Bremen Oct 1911 - he was 16 or 18. He was going to stay with an uncle Anton Sheiller(?), the spelling was hard to read on the manifest. He was from Liebenan Bohemia. He married my grandmother Mary Elizabeth Murray in 1926 in Bakersfield CA. He may have had other family come over - possibly a George or sister Anna. He had 4 daughters and on son who I believe either died at birth or as an infant. My mother's name is Anna Elinor, sisters Mary Elizabeth, Katheryn Theresa and Josephine Francis. After his death in 1941, my mother, his daughter, said all foreign letters stop coming. Any help would be wonderful. Thank you

Anna Schuh was married to William/Wilhelm Jacobi, they had a daughter Eve, who married Phillip Wolfrom in Kenderhook N.Y. around 1756. I am trying to fill in the blanks
Phillip is going back to the third generation of Wolfroms.They came to this country on the Royal Judith in 1739 .
Any help on the Schuh family would be greatly appreciated.

My great grandfather was Edward Mobarry from Cincinnati. His daughter was Martha Mobarry Schuh who was married to George Schuh. My brother Patrick is the genealogist in the family and has been researching a lot of family info the last couple of years, since my mother died. Our mother's name was Nancy DiMuzio and she was Martha's (and George's) niece (Nancy's mother was Edna Mobarry, Martha's sister). I don't know if Pat could provide much info on George Schuh, but he does have quite a bit of info on the Mobarry's and their ancestors. Hello Mike Schuh here from Ohio. State many Schuh families came to and relocaated to other places like Wisconsin.

Could you include just a little more information with the names that you are mentioning in your post replies. Without Birth dates, middle initials, and other details it becomes just a guess when you try to look at a data base to see if the names inquired about actually match up with date a researcher has in their possition.

I am looking for information about George and Anna Pfund in Germany. Anna Barbara's maiden name was Schuh. May be Schauerheim, Germany. Their son, Johan Ernst Pfund, was born May 7, 1801 in Schauerhim. Johan Ernst married Elisabetha Wunder in 1826 in Erkenbrechsthofen, Germany.
Johan Ernst and Elisabetha are buried at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Frankenlust, Bay Co., Michigan.

Does anyone have more information?

well hello isnt that nice my own cousin and i didn't know who you were, sorry about that.yes i only started to look into our ancestry just a couple of weeks ago, one of my boys had to do a school project about were their family came from and when they arrived in australia so i asked dad and he gave me some info that a lady called Lisa Muspratt From Bateau Bay ,had given him (dont know if you know her or have the same info)but it goes through quite a few families.no i dont have any photos of family from like before granzie and nan but i will send you some photos of my family if you are interested and i would love to have some of yours if you dont mind. My grandfather Jospeh had a brother named Anton, who had a son named "Frank". Since this is a very German name it may be possible we are related. Please respond. We are trying to trace our GG Grandmother Josephema Schuh. She was born in Baden, immigrated to the USA on the ship Carolus Magnus from Havre, France and arrived at New York port on Jan 13, 1854. She and Joseph Friedrich, who was on the boat with her to USA, married on Feb 20, 1854 in Huron County, Ohio.

We are wanting to know if she had family already here in the US . Since Richland County has Schuh's here by then , if anyone can help we will appreciate it.
