Jens Schulz came from Norway to US at age 19- civil engineer. Married Anna T Eriksen in US (also Norwegian). Jens father was German, mother Norwegian. He was supposedly a second son, which is why he left (no inheritance for second sons?). Had Carol Serena (my Grandmother). She had a brother Lawrence who stayed or moved back to Portland Oregon when the family came to Los Angeles. I wondered if anyone knew or heard of this Jens Schulz (without the T). Also, he originally used 'von Schulz' and changed his name to John Shiels around WW1. My Grandmother used to write to her Grandmother in Norway, but never met her. John went to visit in 1912, so there must be family in Norway. Mainly, I am wondering if there are any decendents of Lawrence Shiels floating around?
