Ruth Davis Schuster was a sister of my great grandmother. I have also been searching for the cause and date of her death, which was apparently in Scranton, and the place of her burial. Since your post was written in 2007, I was wondering if you might have discovered anything more about her. I've got a great deal of information about her Davis family, as well as the children of Ruth and Jake Schuster, which I would be happy to share.

I'm sorry, but your Schuster family is not familar to be. In fact, Fredricka Dorothea Schuster's family is new to me still yet. I believe her to be born in Germany. I may have to look into a (FHC) Family History Center for help.

I am looking for a Fred S. Schuster who married a Della ?
They are on the 1930 census WV with children Albert T. 24, Virginia 19 and Roland 19.
I believe this to be the family of my brother in law, Fred Schuster b. 1910 WV along with his twin Virginia.
We know Fred as 'Rollie', he married my husband's sister Doris Adell Thompson in 1944.
I would love to add Rollie's family to our family data.
Rollie and Doris had a daughter, Phylliss b. 1949, we have lost contact with Phyliss and would love to hear from her.

My great grandfather was Nicholas Schuster, Jacob's older brother. While filling in some of the blanks on Jacob, I came across the original marriage record for Jacob & Lucy Meurer and death record for Jacob. They are on the familysearch site under the pilot project which includes Ohio church records. You need to look in the St. Louis Church records for Custer. There are no indexes for these, so the going is a bit rough; also, printout is a challenge. I finally just did a "Print Page" (controlP). It's a bit weird looking, but it's large enough to actually see. The actual death certificate is just in the regular death records, not the church records.

I was so busy printing out the baptismal records for Nicholas' children that I only noticed a few references to children of Jacob and Lucy, but I'm fairly sure you will find some there, as well. Oh, yes; all of the church records are in Latin.

I known I replaying to a post that is 8 years old, but thought it might be worth a try:

My Great, Great, Grandfather, Johannes Bixenmann, was reportedly married, for a very short time, (possibly a live-in relationship) to a Maria Anna Schuster, about 1857-59. My branch of the Bixenmann's also use the name Bixenman, and all lived and mostly still live around Grand Island, Hall, Nebraska.

I've not been able to confirm this marriage as fact, and in fact, can't find anything whatsoever regarding Maria Anna or Anna Maria Schuster.

If you can shed any light on the matter, I'd appreciate it.

A Martin Schuster from Transylvania born abt 1862 is my Great Great Grandfather. He was married Sara/____ and they had children; Sara born 23 Sept 1880 in Transylvania, Catherine in Transylvania, John born in Transylvania, and Michael born in Transylvania. John and Michael stayed in Transylvania. His daughter Sara grew up and married Daniel Miller who was born 26 August 1874. He was in the German Army when they met-(she worked in the fields watching over the cows in Transylvania.) Sara and Daniel had children:
Sara born 1900 in Germany, Catherine (Katie) born 1901 in Germany, Daniel born 1904 in Germany, Anna born 1907, Michael William born 1909 in Pa., Jenie born 1911 (Living)-I have written her a letter aksing for more family info-still waiting to hear back from her, Christian M. born 1914 in Pa. , John born 1916, Frederick born 1918 in Pa., Martin born 1921 in Pa. , Alice born 1924, and two children who died at birth. Any info about Martin Schusters in Transylvania would be greatly appreciated.

He was born April 26, 1926 in Phillips County to Leonard and Minnie (Karsten) Schuster.

I, also, found Jacob's death certificate on familysearch.labs, but Lucy's death certificate is not there even though she died October 17,1908. Jacob and Lucy had 13 children and one of them, Mary Mae Schuster Askins Uhde, is my husband's maternal grandmother. She married Henry Allen Askins. We have been to the St. Louis cemetery and took pictures of the grave stones. We have pictures of four Schuster girls we can share with you. Not one of our Schusters. I have since located the correct spelling of Lucia maiden name...Meurer. They are from Deshler, Wood County, Ohio. Jacob and Lucia Schuster had 13 children. I will keep your message and see if there may be a connection.

Was your Jacob Schuster living in Sandusky or Ottawa County, Ohio? Our Jacob lived in Deshler, Wood County, Ohio. He is buried in St. Louis Cemetery, Deshler, Ohio. Our Schusters were Catholics and came from Werfus, Germany.

We do not connect as far as I know. One of the 13 children of Jacob Schuster and Lucia Meurer Schuster, was John J. and he married Mary LaVern Dawson. They lived in Garnett, Anderson County, Kansas. I just know that my Jacob Schuster is from Germany and that he was married to Catherine Swinn. There are actually two Jacob Schusters, Jacob Schuster Sr. (my great, great, great, great grandfather) and then his son Jacob Schuster Jr. married to Ruth Davis. As far as I know this family is from the Ohio area. Do you know anything about this family?

John Schuster, a resident of Lewis county for the past thirty-two years, died at Chehalis Saturday evening, October (December) 10, age 73 years. He was born in Austria, February 5, 1848, and came to the United States in 1887 and to Lewis county in 1889. He was a resident of Crago hill and leaves besides his widow, Mary Schuster, the following children: Mrs. F. J. Saliger, RFD 2 Chehalis; Mrs. J. L. Tauscher, RFD 2 Chehalis; Mrs. Lena Byers, Raymond; Mrs. John Meyers, Chehalis; Adolph Schuster of Crego hill; and a brother, Anton Schuster of Crego. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church yesterday forenoon at 10 o'clock. Rev. Father Moens officiating.
