I am looking for the parents of Schuyler J. Stockham born in 1821 in Pennsylvania. He married Mary Ann (unknown surname) born about 1828 in New Jersey. They had four children, all born in Wayne County,Michigan. They are: Celia born about 1848, Emma born about 1850, William born about 1853, George born about 1859. According to the 1870 and 1880 U.S. Census for Detroit, Michigan, Schuyler J. Stockham was a wholesale lumber merchant. Since Schuyler is an unusual given name, I think that it must be a family name and that he must be connected to the Schuyler family. I have noted that some of the Schuyler family are from Bucks County Pennsylvania. Bucks County is where the immigrant George Stockham (1736-1821) and his wife Elizabeth Biss settled when they arrived from Bristol, England and where they had their large family. Schuyler Stockham's mother may have been a Schuyler. I would appreciate any information that may lead me to his parents.
