I am hoping to find forebears of my great great grandfather, Martin Swant (born Oct. 12, 1842) , who came from Prussia and settled in Minnesota. My mother thinks his family name may have been changed from Schwandt. Martin was married to Elizabeth Mapson, who was born Feb. 14, 1853 in Brinkworth, England. They married on Nov. 7, 1870. They had six children: Frederick, Esmirilla, Laura, Emery, Carrie and Own. Frederick(born Feb. 8, 1872 in Granada, MI) moved to Wisconsin as a young man.
