Ruth; you have posed a lot of questions if they can be answered it will clear up a lot of things. I wish the family in Wisconsin would be more cooperative. But I don’t see that happening.
As far as Ida Foelster. She was married first to a man named Art Kroegher, he died after they had 2 daughters, Margaret Kroeger Foelster & Viola Kroeger Foelster. Then she married Christ Foelster and had 2 more children Edna Foelster & Harold Foelster. I don’t have any other information on The first husband Art Kroegher, but I was under the impression Christ Foelster had adopted the older 2 daughters. Since they are listed as step sisters, maybe not. Since her mother’s name is given as Ottilie Weber that sounds like maybe Christ Foelster had 2 children and Ida had 2 children when married.
Here is Christ’s obit:
Christ Foelster, second husband d.10 Feb.1961 at the age of 78 in Immanuel Hospital in Mankato. He was a car refinisher for several years and then farmed near Rapidan MN. before coming to Mankato in 1958. His daughter, Edna Foelster, was living with him at the time of his death. Mrs. Ralph Everson, Terre Haute, Indiana was his other daughter. Mr. Ernest Thompson of Denver, Colorado and Harold Foelster were his other children.
Christ came to America from Schleswig Holstein when he was a young child, along with his mother, Marie Krause and father Daniel Foelster.
Christ became a citizen of the US.
According to his death certificate Dr. Wm. Stillwell performed surgery to find out why he had mesenteric thrombosis and learned that Christ had an acute obstruction of the bowel and was anemic. The operation was performed on 1 Feb.1961 and he died on the 10 Feb.
