My records show he was born 18 OCT 1818 in Prussia -- some other records show he was born the 8th of the same month and year.

He died in Waukesha, Wisconsin 24 Jan 1877 (some records show it was actually Jul)

He married Cathrine (or Catherina) Kratz. Sometimes misspelled as Betz. They had 6 children.

Census records indicate he was a shoe maker. My best guess is that he immigrated about 1852. His son, Gabriel was a lawyer of Price County (wisconsin?)
