I am not sure if I can help or not, but I know the census you are talking about. I think the Joseph you are talking about was Joseph Pearl Seabolt born August 4,1894 in Honey Grove, Fannin County Texas. He had twin brother William Earl who died when he was eight years old. Joseph died March 15, 1963 Tillman, Oklahoma and is buried at Davidson Cemetery. I think that he must have been married to Regie , I do know however, that he was married to Glenna Irene Folley (1910-1997) I would really love to have a copy of the obit. Would you please email me a copy ? Thanks in advance. If you would like to discuss this further , email me if you like. enigmaklw@austin.rr.com

Re: SEABOLTS

This is a very old post, but I hope this might still provide some useful information. You did not list names AND Dates AND Places, so it is somewhat difficult to be sure this all fits. I have been looking at the Rogers families of Cherokee and Haywood Co’s NC and where they all went and how they were related. Recently I noted that the Rogers families were linked with Seabolt Families in two places related to Cherokee Co NC. William Thomas Rogers b. 10 Feb 1796 NC d. 27 May 1851 Cherokee Co NC was married to Mary Polly Moss b. 1798 Buncome Co., NC. One of their 8 children was Hugh W Rogers b. 21Apr1831 d. 07 Jun 1908 Cherokee Co NC. Hugh W Rogers married abt 1857 Laura A Gouger b. 28 Apr 1837 Wade Co GA d. 23 Jan 1914 Cherokee Co NC. One of their 9 Children was Samuel Varner Rogers b.11Mar1862 NC d.29Oct1936 Murphy, Cherokee Co NC. Samuel V Rogers married 1899 Nancy Elvena Seabolt (Vina) b.mar1870 GA d.bef.1910. Vina was the dau of Henry Washington Seabolt b. 20 Dec 1830 GA d. 07 Nov 1902 Cherokee Co NC and Nancy Marinda Wooten b.Apr1843 GA. Samuel V Rogers and Vina Seabolt had one known son William Washington Rogers b.11Mar1900 d.18Feb1972 Murphy, Cherokee Co., NC. William Washington Rogers 1972 Death Certificate says his Father was Samuel V Rogers and mother Vina Seabolt and his wife was Lillie Dockery. In 1930 Census William Washington Rogers was married 1921 to Lillie b.1901 and they had 3 children Emilee b.1922, Frank V b.1924 and William Edwin b.1926. Much of this fits what you have said but some of it does not. Since there are no dates and places, I do not know if this is of use. There is no family info know post 1930. The Rogers have a very old family history of reusing over and over, generation after generation the same family names and maybe that is the case here.
Henry Wahington Seabolt is said by others to be the son of Solomon Seabolt b.abt.1802 in NC, but I have done no research into that. Henry Seabolt lived in Union Co GA for a long time but moved to Cherokee Co NC by 1900.
Rachel Seabolt b.Abt.1871 GA and another dau of Henry Washington Seabolt became the 2nd wife of William Hubbard/Herbert Winkler b.Feb1852 GA after his first wife Darcus Elvina Rogers b.Abt.Oct1851 d.abt.1901. Darcus Elvina Rogers was the daughter of Alexander Preston Rogers b.Abt.1817 Haywood Co., NC and brother of Hugh Washington Rogers b.1831 (mentioned above).
You can find more on the people, places, dates and sources at 2 locations:
www.gencircles.com/users/gcwec4474/1
or
RootsWeb World Connect and enter database edclgenealogy1
(or enter one of the names referred to) and look for edclgenealogy1 on the right
Just be SURE which site you look at has an “update” date of AFTER the date of this post. I have recently discovered some of the info on these families and have not yet updated those sites which I will soon.
Hi was searching on information regarding Coletta for one of Sam's daughters, Betty Frank. I was trying to help Betty find information on her Mom. I have lived across the street from Betty for many years until she moved to Myrtle Beach. You could be the daughter of either Pat or Alice or even one of Betty's daughter. I posted this so long ago, I had to stop and thing about who Coletta. Did you ever find information on her?

If you would like to share any information regarding my 'grandmother', please reply. Due to the sensitive nature of her leaving her children, I would prefer not to identify myself until I learn more about this site and your interest.

Regards.

Virgil Vernon Seabolt

I am trying to find the parents of Virgil Vernon Seabolt. He was born 1913, died 2000. He married Mary Glass in Nicutt Oklahoma 1936. After Virgil and Mary had Thomas Eugene Seabolt my father 1936 they moved to California. Thomas Eugene has one brother Leon and six sister Mary Jane, Imagene, Carol Ann, Connie, Corky and Kathy. I have been researching my family on both sides. I have found a lot of information on Mary Glass and her parents and siblings, but have not been able to find any on Virgil Vernon Seabolt. I did find his death Nov.11,2000 Vacaville, Solana California, only I found his name Vern Virgel Seabolt. What I need is Virgil Vernon Seabolt's parents so that I can start researching on his side. This family was not a close one. I was not raised around them. But a part of me needs to know who they were and where they came from. I want to do a family book so that my boy's know who and where there family began. If anyone knows of this family please contact me Arkisquaw@hotmail.com. Thank you Renae Brown nee Seabolt

I am looking for info on Elias Sebolt and his wife Lydia. On their daughter's obituary it was said they were born in Holland. Both died in 1897, a month apart, and are buried in the Aurand Cemetary near Ellen Chapel, Ferguson Valley Rd. Mifflin County, PA. Their were at least 4 year mentioned, my grandfather Charles Sebolt and Maggie Mumper, his sister.

Does anyone have a link to them or know where I can get info on the ships and their passengers from Holland?

my grandmother's maiden name was Seabolt, she was born in 1909 Quinton, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Charles David Seabolt & Alice Janet Green...I was told that there was Cherokee in this family line but I dont find it, having said that I do have a copy of of the Cherokee rolls that show a Charles Seabolt listed, several other Seabolts as well,...I do know that the Seabolt families intermarried with the Cherokees in North Carolina & Georgia...one being a John Seabolt, who was an Indian Trader, whose wife was Elizabeth, they were parents of Conrad, Abraham, Soloman & Peter, I think...they had two daughters who married two brothers Flauers, which was the original German spelling of this name, later it became Flowers...........anyway, just wondering & wanted to make a connection to see what info you might have

Seabolts in Berks Co., PA

My ggg-grandfather was John Seabolt b. in Berks Co., PA on Aug 11, 1785 and christened in the Luthern Church in Windsor Twp as Johamier Seybold. Father was Johnnes Seybold and Maria ULN. God parents were Valentine Billman and Barbara Hauren. I have his original birth certificate with data matching the church records. By 1800, the family was going by the name of Seabolt instead of Seybold. Would be happy to e-mail you a scanned color image of this birth certificate and lineage of this line to 1754 when they arrived from Germany. Can be reached at williamz@flash.net.

I am seeking father of Emma Jeanette Seabolt, born @1846 in a Southern state. Census records show various states as place of birth. Her mother's maiden name was Jeanette Davis. Emma married Thomas White and in 1870 and 1880 they lived in St. Louis, MO. They moved back to Nashville where Thomas White was from. Don't know where they were married but there's no marriage record in Davidson County, Tennessee. Any leads/info would be gratefully appreciated.
William H. Meacham, born March 8, 1808 and married to Julia Hicks Meacham, born in 1810 was my great-great-great grandparents. William Clayton Meacham was their son and was born April 27, 1840 and died May 17, 1909. He married Oct 17, 1866 to Martha Helen Morse, born Sept. 3, 1850 and died Aug. 27, 1919.

William H. Meacham's father was William Meacham born in 1779 and his mother was Elizabeth Hicks according to my pedigree chart. Also I see that their were 9 siblings born to W.C. and Martha. Rebecca is one of them and she did marry Rev. N. Leech Seabolt. Their was 6 girls and 3 boys. (Henry Arthur, Jesse William and Thomas Jackson) Thomas Jackson was my great grandfather.

Karen,

I descend from Abraham Seabolt. Do you remember where you got the information that the John Seabolt of NC, who was Abraham and Conrad's father, was an Indian trader and that his wife was Elizabeth? I didn't have a name for John's wife, since the estate records were supposed to only refer to "the widow Seabolt."

I'd appreciate any help you can give me, since I seem to have run into a "brick wall" on tracing John back any further than the 1800 census.

Thank you,
Janice Nolin
