Hi Pat...

Thank you so much for responding to my query. I have found quite a bit of information on the family/children of Jacob and Emmaline Seaver since my posting.

I am also still looking for information as to where Jacob Seaver, son of Jacob and Esther, and his wife Emmaline are buried. It seems as though Jacob (b. 1814) accompanied five of his children (and their families) from Iowa to Jewell County, Kansas in about 1872...and I have not found any information that Emmaline (the mother) came with them.

I would look forward to sharing information with you. I can be reached at mulecrk@gvtc.com. Thank you.

Kim

Kim,
This would be Jacob, son of Jacob and Esther (Croberger) Seaver(s). They moved from Scott Co, VA to Indiana about 1820. Jacob was b. 1773 and d. @1824; thought to be the son of Henry and Elizabeth Seaver(s). I have quite a few land records and other court documents for Jacob in Scott Co, VA. He also bought and sold land in bordering Sullivan Co, TN. Esther's parents lived in Hawkins Co., TN, which borders both Sullivan Co. TN and Scott Co, VA.

My husband is descended from William Se(a)ver(s) @1770-1814, likely a brother of Jacob.

Pat

One of Mr. Baker's daughters married William K. Sevier of Tennessee. Could this be a member of your family. Please contact me if you have information I might be able to use. I am in contact with Ann Baker Beale, daughter of R.W. Baker who also may be related to you. Thanks, Jake Shepherd

Hi Randy Seaver,

I may have a Seaver mystery for you. Martha (Mattie) Ellen Seaver was my great great grandmother. She was born on December 6, 1858 in Holden, Massachusetts. Her parents were John W. Seaver and Lucinda (maiden name unknown). Martha married John Lindsey Rowell on February 18th, 1882 in Worcester, MA. The family story is that one of Martha's parents was full-blooded Native American, specifically from the Arapaho tribe. Farfetched, I know, given the current location and history of that particular tribe. Do you have any information about my Seaver ancestors? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Dear Wilma: I believe Sarah was married to my great grandfather, William H. Shepard. She was likely his second wife. I cannot find any children from this marriage. Since she was born before 1820 (Wm. was b. 1816 in Saratoga NY, but then migrated to MI. He was quite wealthy and had eight children from his first marriage (wife died 1850).) Sarah is buried in Duplain Cemetary, Clinton.

If you have information on possible descendants of Sarah and my grandfather, please let me know! Thank you so much.

Susan Shepard

I believe i am a descendant of Henry Seaver of Heath Hall and the great great ? grandson of Dean Seaver. A branch of the family became british RAMC around 1910, my father Dr R.G. born 1920 pakistan NW frontier his father BgG C.D.K Seaver. A cousin George Seaver has written a book (The History of the Seaver family 1950? ) which i suspect may be of interest to you though modern researches may have overtaken him. He also wrote reasonably famous biographies "Dr.Schweitzer" and "Scott of the Antarctic" so you may be able to get a copy. best of luck. i know my neice Katie is v interested in genealogy so may be she could get in touch.

Has any descendant of Robert Seaver (who came from England to Roxbury MA in 1634) had a Y-DNA test? I am thinking of doing it, but it would be good to have a number of people do it so results can be compared.

If you have had a Y-DNA test, would you mind letting me know which company did it and if the results are online?

There is a Sevier/other variants surname study at www.familytreedna.com, but it has only 4 members, and I doubt that any of them are descendants of Robert Seaver.

Thanks -- Randy rjseaver@cox.net
We traced these Seaver's from Roppeviller, France/Germany, but do not know where they may have come from before then.
If you come across any of these names, please let me know. Perhaps they will have intersected with your Seaver's before showing up in Roppeviller.
Thanks!
-Kat-
