In one of your post you said you were a descendant of Elijah and Polly Sebastian, and their son Hiram. Do you have or know of any old photos of any of the Sebastians? I am descended through Elisha and Malinda Turner Sebastian. Also through David and Betty Stamper Sebastian. And would love to have copies of any old photos.
Thank you.
Betty Estep
restep@fuse.net

August Sebastian - Portugal to Hawaii

Looking for information on the August Sebastian family that immigrated from Portugal to Hawaii in 1883 aboard the SS Abergeldie. The family members include August, his wife Luiza, son Manuel, and daughters Emily, Mary and Carry. I believe that the family name was originally Augusto or Augusta, but was changed after arriving in Hawaii. Ship records show Sebastiao Augusta, not August Sebastian. Any help would be appreciated

Charles Edward Sebastian who was LAPD Chief of Police and LA mayor was born in Farmington, Missouri along with most of his family. I've been researching him because my grandmother told me that somewhere along the line he is a cousin of one of my relatives. May be by marriage. I'm trying to find out who. I believe his wife's name may have been Elsie, but I do not know her maiden name and they had a son named Charles also. Anyone with info, it would be greatly appreciated.

They were reported to have lived in Carlisle Pa during late 1800s and just before the turn of the century. It has been handed down through the family that George went to Canada. Any information please pass it on. It should also be noted that Peter married a Native American that went to attended the Carlisle Indian School.

Kathleen
