Does anyone have any information on a Benjamin Sedgwick who married Sarah Adrion, Adreon or Adrian? According to a story furnished by William Adreon, Sarah was not a pretty girl and could not find a husband. Her father, Christian Adrion, offered a large pice of land to Benjamin Sedgwick if he would marry her and further offered additional lands to their sons if they would change their names from Sedgwick to Adrion. In Christian's Will he left the bulk of his estate to their sons:

Christian Sedgwick Adrion, born approx. 1776
George Sedgwick Adrion, born approx. 1779
Jacob Sedgwick Adrion, born approx. 1764
Matthias Sedgwick Adrion

The boys, in turn, legally changed their names from Sedgwick to Adrion by court order on January 25, 1805 (no reason was given).

Benjamin and Sarah also had a daughter named Hannah. There is a marriage record in Maryland for Sarah Edrion married to Benjamin Sedgwick.
