Descendants of Benjamin Bennett Graves & Synthia Sellars!

The site is about the descendants of Benjamin Bennett Graves and his wife Synthia Sellars. Benjamin Bennett Graves was born in Montgomery Co., North Carolina in 1831, and Synthia Sellars was born in Chesterfield Co., South Carolina in abt. 1832. Their marriage was short lived, as Benjamin Bennett Graves is thought to have died in service to his southern heritage in abt. 1865, and then Synthia raised her children in Chesterfield Co., South Carolina. These six children, with descendants listed on site, gave rise to the large Graves clan that inhabited central and western Chesterfield County as well as Union and Anson Counties of North Carolina - and beyond

James Winslow Sellers - DoB=8.11.1890 (Brunswick County, NC) marr to Millie Hazel Stallings. They had 6 kids -> youngest was James - DoB = 1927?

The descendants of James Sellers, Sr. born & died in North Carolina. He was the father of
James Sellers, Jr. born North Carolina & died in Alabama, he was the father of Joseph Sellers born in
North Carolina & died in Texas,
he was the father of James H. Sellers born
in Alabama, went to Texas and died in Arkansas (I think) and he was the father of
James Alford Sellers, my grandfather,
who was born in Alabama and died in Texas.

I'm looking for information about Joseph Sellers from McDowell North Carolina. He was born about 1816, has as a siter, Elvira Alice Sellers English and I belive their mother was a Minnie or Winnie Freeman Sellers (1785?) He was married to Elvira "Vira" Tate. Their children were: Sarah Ann Sellers McKinney, Elizabeth Sellers, Louisa Sellers, William Sellers, Joseph Jr "Josiah" Sellers, Pinkney "Pink" Sellers, Mary Sellers, and Jehu Sellers.
Besides McDowell the family also resided in Yancey County at some time.

My SELLERS were James Sellers, Jr. and son Joseph Sellers and their familes who came from Town Creek to Pike County, Alabama. They are on the 1830 census of Pike County, Alabama. They may have been in Alabama as early as 1820. Thank You!!

Do you know much about James. My husbands father was James Washington Sellers. We do not know much about my husband's family. James Washington Sellers estimated bn 1880;married Dorothy Bridgman estimated bn 1880; had son Raymond Earl Sellers bn Oct 1901 or 1905 (1 have documentation listing both years)in Indiana.

I was wondering where is Sellerstown located. I have been looking for information on my husband family (Sellers) and have not found anything. His father was Raymond Earl Sellers bn 10-1901 or 1905 (we have 2 years documented). He was bn in Indiana. Ray was married and was living in SF, California in 1940s. We assumed he got a devorced and moved to Michigan in 1950's. From that point (moved to Michigan) we know. We know nothing of his wife or possible children in California. Ray parents are James Washington Sellers and Dorothy Brigman...we think they could have been bn in 1880's

I am looking for information about my Grandfather James Washington Sellers. He married Dorothy Bridgman. I think they were born around 1880. They had a son Raymeond Earl Sellers in 1901 or 1905 in Indiana. I don't know much more then that about James or Dorothy.
Ray was married and lived in San Franscico, Cali in the 1940's. He ws devorced moved to Michiganin the 1950's.
I would like to know anything about James and Dorothy?
I would like to know if Ray had other children from his first marriage and who was he married to??

I also have a copy of his pension application that I copied from the Archives in Tallahassee along with photos I obtained from his daugher in Gainesville. He married a Lizzie Rogers from Warsau Florida. if he is the same one he married life was very interesting from one woman to another. He is for Cottonwood,Ala. Here is what I have on the Sellers, My great grand father was Joseph Benjamin Sellers pob Cottonwood Ala. dob 04 June 1886 dod 04 Msy 1968 his father was John Sellers and mother was Trifenni Cobb both from Cottonwood, Ala that is all I have on them but I do have the childrens names they are John, Adman "Capp" Flake, Alvin, Salley, Minnie, and my ggf. They moved to Warsau, Florida. I received this from one of his daughters, sorry it is all I have.

DNA has to be a direct male son (or son's son, or son's grandson, etc) of Sylvester. In other words, any of Sylvesters sons and any of their sons and any of their sons and so on would carry the Sellers surname and Sellers DNA that would need to be tested. Do you have any male Sellers cousins?

Town Creek runs through the Winnabow area of Brunswick County - not too far from Leland - which is across the Brunswick river from Wilmington NC.

If you use www.maps.google.com and search for "Town Creek" Brunswick County NC you'll be linked to a map that shows where Town Creek (the creek) runs.

I have many many relatives in that area... Sellers, Simmons, Phelps, Clemmons, Inman, Benton, etc.

Vester (Sylvester V. Sellers) was my Dad's grandfather. My grandmother (my dad's mom) never talked about her dad. My dad never new his grandfather. could the dna test come from my brother or would it have to be from my grandmother's brother's son.
