BIOGRAPHY: PAULINE KATHERINE SEMRAU
Pauline SEMRAU was born in Pomerania, Prussia, on March 25, 1870 to her parents, Leplat SEMRAU and Augusta Fischer.
She spent her formative years growing up in Prussia at school and with her family.
She immigrated to the USA and she learned to speak the english language fluently.
She was confirmed on April 6, 1884 in Muskegon, Michigan at St. Johann's Evangelish (Lutheran) Kirche. (A german language church)
She became a naturalized US citizen in 1892.
Aged about 22, Pauline married Frank John Grimm on May 14, 1892 at Muskegon, Michigan. Frank, aged 22 was born at Wernhausen, Thüringen, Germany.
They had eight children:
1893 - Augusta (Gussie)
1896 - William Otto Grimm
1889 - Martha Margaret
1906 - Edward Victor
1909 - Esther Grimm
1911 - Blanche H
1914 - Alfred F.
1937 - Peggy Grimm (Peggy Grimm is the daughter of Blanche Grimm and was adopted by Martha Margaret Grimm. Pauline K. Grimm actually raised Peggy as her own daughter.
Pauline's husband worked the lumber trades in Michigan, and later at Bemidji, MN at the Crookston Mills. The family later moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon. Frank died in an accident on June 14, 1944, aged 74.
Pauline continued to live in the Klamath falls area where her children grew up. She died on Sep 5, 1961 and is buried at Linkville Pioneer cemetery.
Pauline is interred next to her husband's grave, and her daughter Martha Margaret's cremains are inurned in her mother's grave.

Mrs. Pauline C. Grimm 91, a former Bemidji resident died at Klamath Falls Ore, Sept. 5 according to word received by her son William Otto Grimm of Bemidji.
Mrs. Grimm was born in Germany in 1870. She is survived by two other sons, Edward of Ashland Wisconson, and Alfred of Klamath Falls; four daughters, Augusta Grimm of Chicago, Martha Grimm, Mrs Blanche Morgan and Mrs. Vern Gratzner of Klamath Falls. Her husband Frank and a son preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at Klamath Falls Thursday.
Note: Her obituary from Bemidji erroneously used the middle initial C instead of K. -Don
