Funeral Held for William Sensabaugh

Funeral services for John William Sensabaugh, 71, who died Friday at his home north of town, were held in the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The pastor, the Rev. David Nelson, officiated. Burial was in the family lot in the Abingdon cemetery.

Music was in charge of E. W. Crumbaker and Mrs. Mae Cramer, with Mrs. Alta Graves at the organ. Flower bearers were Mrs. J. W. Lucas, Mrs. Otis Rush, Mrs. Ira Benson, Mrs. Ed Johns and Miss Jennie Barlow. Casket bearers were George Byram, A. E. Roller, E. I. Blevins, J. W. Lucas, George French, and Ord Haffner.

John William Sensabaugh, son of Samuel and Abaline Sensabaugh, was born near Lexington, Va., Nov. 4, 1865. He was the oldest of seven children. He married Mary Tolley Sept 29, 1891, and to this union were born five children - Mary at home, Mrs. Raymond Hills, Mrs. Harvey Johnson, Clyde and Harold. His father, mother, and brother Brown preceded him in death. He united with the Methodist Episcopal church of Abingdon under the pastorate of the Rev. J. T. Pierce and attended the Sunday school for a number of years.

Surviving are the widow, five children, eight grandchildren, four brothers, and two sisters.

Va.; Luther Sensabaugh of Lexington, Va.; Mr. and Mrs Mercereno of St. Louis, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. James Kerr of Gilson; Miss Laura Selph, Mr. and Mrs. Beauford Tolley and family, of London Mills; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hilton of Bloomington; Mr. and Mrs. John Dorsey of Brooks, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Stoddard, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sargent and son, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sparks and daughter, Mrs. Joseph McCarty and son and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carson, all of Galesburg; Ord Haffner and sons Blake and Gale; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hutchins of Bushnell; Mr. and Mrs. George French and family, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil French; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde French and son of Cameron; Mr. and Mrs. Walter French and family, of Monmouth; and Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson of Berwick.

John William Sensabaugh died April 23, 1937.
