I am trying to make some connection to the SERR family for Emilie (Serr) Ott. She was married to George Ott. They lived in Boyd and Clay Counties in Nebraska and Gregory County in South Dakota. I believe their children were Laura, Friedrich and Vera. I would like to communicate with you on this family.

I haven't done any research for a couple of years so haven't checked family search for awhile. I did find the J. Michael that was born in Ranschbach interesting. My oldest Franz Serr was born there in 1730 something. I did just send you a message on the Corruna Serrs. Let's get off the Board and I'll give you the last address I have for Tim. I can't help you with the MI line except to tell you that Tim Dumond was researching the Corruna Serrs. My line from Rulzheim did connect up to Alice Van Overstraeten before 1855. Try contacting Tim. In 2000 he was at tidumond@comcast.net. He lived in West Bloomfield, MI. If you read Alice's message she gave a phone number. I have not been able to contact her for some time.

i am anthony serr and can only trace a few gens of serrs. my father is gail alfred his father Claude alfred, my ggrand is James alfred my gggrand is Joseph serr married to Mary E Goward any further help would be great

I have learned quite a bit about the Serr family since my original posting. The family originated from the area of Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. Some settled in Erie County, Pennsylvania and after time, resettled in Shiawassee County, Michigan. Joseph is my gggrandfather. that is as far as i can find the line. my ggrandfather is James Alfred SErr Married to Nina Phyllaise. my grandfather is Claude Alfred Serr. m. Alberta Bixy or Bixby. please post back i would love to kow what youknow and hopefully share.

if you are interested in the Goward line i have that back to 1791.

i dont know if this is the same line of Serrs but i need info. my name is Anthony Serr, father is Gail Alfred Serr Grand Father is Claude Alfred Serr. All i know is that the Family was "large" in the Owosso/Corruna, Mi area. Claude married an Alberta (maiden name unknown). i have one uncle named Vern. sad but this is all i know. any help would be great. i have heard tell of an uncle "Bud " nad an uncle "Red"

Amy, my daughter is Amy Serr too. She's almost 30.
The Serr's we are from were from Russia, through Ellis Isl., then Nebraska, homesteaded in Idaho.
We live in Utah now. Some Serr's in our line still live in the Blackfoot Idaho area

Amos, to be honest, we had to reboot our computer and I lost all of the ancestory that I had on my family. I am not sure about Berry, it seems like that is a familiar name. I am the Grand daughter of Peter Serr, I had uncle Gilbert, Aunt Anna(Osnes) Father Willam John Serr, and Uncle George Serr. I would be glad to exchange information with you. Please contact me. I have records of them in Nebraska and in South Dakota. Peter died in 1938 (approximately). I remember the night we received the call of his heart attack and he died shortly there after.

The Rev. Chester W. McCaskey, of Wayne Street Methodist church, officiated at services at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in teh Donald C. Burton funeral home in memory of Mrs. Helen P. SERR, seventy, 2211 State st., sho died Sunday eveining in Hamet hospital from a fractured right hip suffered in a fall March 13.

Pallbearers were G. W. MOORE, M. C. MANN, J. P. CAULEY and A. S. LYNCH. Interment was in Erie cemetery.

Surviving are two sons, A. Earl SERR, Erie, and Gerald R. E. SERR, S. C.; a daughter, Mrs. LeRoy MILLER; a granddaughter, Miss Helen MILLER, Erie, and a brother Will HOLMES, St. Johns, Mich.
