I'm sorry to be so testy tonight, but tree after tree has Catherine Sessler born in 1778 in Brown County Illinois. Some even have her parents born there. There was no Brown County IL in 1778 and in the 1850 and 1860 census she is living with son Jacob Emerick and says she was born in MD.

Damarius is Demarius Emmaline Murphy born about 1807 in Virginia. Her husband was Jacob Sesler, the youngest child of Thomas and Nancy (Ann) Sesler (originally from Maryland then moved to Botetourt, Virginia). He was born December 18, 1799 in Botetourt. I have quite alot of information on Demarius and Jacob, his siblings, and their parents. Be glad to email you more.

This is one of my collateral lines so haven't followed it. I have her as married to Harry Hunt with two children, Harry and Fanny but have no more information.

It could be that she lost Edwin during the cival war. With the new information resently adding about casualties during the civil war you might check that route. I have found that a lot of the Ohio Seslar, Sesler, Sesslers moved in the direction of most others slowly west from Pennsylvania, Indiana, Nebraska. But they lost a lot of their men during the civil war. Suzanne

I am just now tracing my Sessler Line. Elizabeth Sessler b 1838 in Bell Center Ohio married Edwin Hunt. The 1850 Richland OH census has her in a household with Demarius as the female head. In 1860 she is married to Edwin Hunt with children. All of a sudden she is in Ft Wayne IN in the 1870 census without Edwin. Until now I couldn't figure why she would go to IN unless she had family there such as Jacob.
Any of these names sound familiar?

I dont know if you found your answer yet. Look up Millard Adling in the 1920 census. Millard is brother-in-law in house. John Sessler is head and Grace is spouse. They were living in Arizona. I know the Adlings passed through Oklahoma. I am trying to find out how this Adling clan might be related to my adling clan who also lived in Oklahoma (Jonas Gilbert).

Thanks

Jennifer Adling

looking for my family lineage

Hi,
I am currently searching for my family linage. My grandmother was Arlene Sessler, and really I don't have much more that that currently. If you have seen her name show up in some of your researching, I would love to hear about it.
This is what I have so far. She married my father's father, Dale A. Fox. She came from Kansas, and I remember stories she told me about when they lived on the Kaw, or Kansas river. Also the family was part of the underground railroad.

Thanks,
Rhonda Fox

There is some misinformation posted in the LDS database. Be glad to share more with you via email.

I am working to clarify the relationships of the Sesler families in this area of Ohio, especially descendents of Martin Sesler and Thomas Sesler. Family lore has it that most if not all were cousins from Virginia (perhaps now parts of West Virginia/Pennsylvania). I believe we corresponded before but would love to share information. I am looking for the father and grandparents of my gggrandfather, Alanson Sesler, who was born in Springfield, Ohio abt. 1838. I believe his mother's name was Emily Witherup.

My great grandfather was Samu Szeszler born in 1863 in Galgoc, Hungary. Although your Sessler spells their name differently, and the town is spelled differently I thought I give it a chance to respond.

The Szeszler family was fairly large in Galgoc from what I found so far in my research.
