They lived in the Telluride, Leadville, and Canon City area. We believe John was Julius' brother. Julius and Katie signed their marriage certificate in 1899 as witnesses. CSannes

traced ancesty to Hettstadt, Bavaria, Germany

I have traced my ancestry to Freidrich Seubert who lived in Hettstadt, Bavaria, Germany. He was born 1757, died 1814. The married Barbara Lutz. Their son Georg Freidrich Seubert emmigrated to Cambria County, PA about 1840. He was born in Hettstadt, Bavaria between 1790 and 1800. He married Anna Maria Kempf at the Catholic Church in Neubrunn, Bavaria, Germany. I was just wondering if any other readers of this board had any ancesters in common. PS our name was changed to Sybert in the US.

ALso, any idea why so many people from Bavaria fled their homeland at this time in history?

Thanks for the reply, but I believe this George Seubert you are referring to is not the one I was inquiring about. Georg (as I've since learned the proper spelling of his name) came from Wimbelbach, Bavaria, and first settled in Wisconsin with his father, Nicklas. Nicklas' father's name was Johann.

Thanks for the reply, though. Always nice to hear from similarly interested people.

Seuberts from Bremen, Germany 1500's

Hello, I'd like to verify some information I've learned recently. Does anyone know if Bremen, Germany was actually in part of Germany in 1501? Or Zaar Valley? The info I've learned shows my Seuberts being from Bremen, then Zaar Valley. They migrated to Berks County, PA sometime before 1741 and they changed the spelling at some point from Seubert to Seibert, then to Seiber. Some of the later descendants eventually moved to Anderson County, TN, then Clay County, KY, then TX.

Thanks for any info!
Joseph Barton

Hi, Curt. I spoke with you about 2 years ago. I have a new email address. It is jcseubert@icehouse.net. If you send an address, I will send you a copy of the book that I have written on the Seubert family in Cottonwood Idaho. It mentions records of Johann Seubert. Here is some of that message. Georg Seubert was the son of Nicklas Seubert, son of Johann and Kunigunda (nee Schmitt) Seubert. Nicklas was born October 30, 1813 in Wimmelbach and grew up in his father's house there. At age 24, on July 9 1938, he married Margarete Frank, daughter of Johann and Anna Katherina (nee Rosch) Frank according to the "Register of Marriages," Volume VII, page 11, of Hausen parish, Germany.
Hope this helps.

Any places I could research him would be very nice and appreciated.

my uncle's name was michael sussillo and the 1910 nyc directory shows that he lived in the college point section of queens. I obtained the census enumeration district numbers for this area and identified the census roll number which contained this area. Unfortunately most of the roll was so faded I could not read it. This census was not indexed. Does anyone have any info on any index for the 1910 census for Queens so I could narrow the search down to a specific page?

Thanks much

Seubert / Elbert Relationship?

A distant relative suggested a relationship to the Seuberts of Seymore, Indiana. The Seubert name came up again in a historical account concerning Lorenz Seubert and Franz Elbert. They were from the Aschaffenburg/Haibach/Grunmorsbach/Dornhof area of Bavaria. My ancestors emigrated to America in 1866. We suspected they resided in New York before moving westward to Missouri possibly via Indiana. Were there Seuberts in New York in 1866 and Indiana in 1868? Is there a connection between our families or is this coincidence? Would appreciate your help.

Katie Seubert is also my Great-Grandmother! My Grandmother was Elizabeth Hennig who married Joseph Brendel. I'm afraid I don't have much information about the Hennig family since my Mom moved to California after World War II with my Dad before I was born and have had little contact with family "back-east". I do know the date in 1890 that Katie came to America and the name of the ship. I also have found the census records for the Hennig's in 1900 and 1920. And I have a copy of the Marriage Certificate for Elizabeth and Joseph Brendel. Love to hear from you and swap info. PS, the ships records gave the nave of Katie's village
