I'm a nebie to the geneology game, and am only recently getting serious about digging in and finding my past. The internet will surely spur this on.

Naturally, I searched several of the surnames that are in my tree, and Sevin is one of them. My grandmother's maiden name was Ella Sevin, and she was originally from Lockport (born 1907 or so). Many of her siblings resided in Marrerro for a long time, and several older family members are still around.

If there is any link that perhaps I can assist with, I would be tickled pink to help.

William John Thomassie

Sevin Surname

I read my cousin Alice Lyons message board and have to add a few things concerning the Marie & Joseph Sevin family. She listed one of her aunts (my grandmother) as Jenny being married to a Boudreaux. Her name was Jennie Sevin Bourgeois. Her first marriage was to Dennis Bourgeois of Lockport. He died at a young age, I know he had TB but I think he was killed on a motor-bike. They had three daughters, Mary, (my mother), Gloria and Audrey. Her second husband was Valentine Zehender, they had one daughter, Valerie.
Mary married Joseph Alonzo, they had one daughter, me, Mary Ruth. Then she married Jesse M. Young. They had nine children, Jessie Lee, Jesse, Jr. , Dennis, Jennie, Thomas, James, William, Barbara & Debra. Thomas, Jennie, James and Debra have died.
Gloria married Andrew Lanclos. They had four children, Frances, Andrew, Jr., John and Catherine. Andrew, Jr. died recently. Gloria married others but had no other children.
Audrey married John Matuska. They had four children, Gloria, John, Jr., Elizabeth and a baby that died not long after birth. I don't know it's name but It was a boy. Audrey married Al McDaniel but they have no children together.
Valerie never married and has no children.
I am married to Charles S. Fury, we have two children, a son Darryl and a daughter Shari.
Darryl married Elizabeth A. Englert September 10, 1994.
Thank you, cousins Robert LeCompte and Alice Lyons for bringing us together to share family information.
I look forward to more!
