Seek descendants of Samuel Sewall/Sewell/Showell of Somerset Co., Maryland, for the Sewell DNA project.
Samuel Sewall was in Somerset Co. by 1687. He married, probably by 1672, ____ Smith, apparently a daughter and a sister of men named Edward Smith both of Somerset Co. Five children, Jonathan, Arnold (Arnoll/Arnwell/Arwell), Charles, Mary and Ann, one of whom at least, Ann, was married in 1695.
He may have been the Samuel Sewall who was a witness to an indenture of Henry and Susanna Lowe Sewall of Calvert Co., Maryland, in 1688.
Hope to evaluate whether Samuel Sewall of Somerset Co., Maryland, is the same as Samuel Sewall (b. say 1635, living in London in 1655, living in 1664 but not known where), son of Richard Sewall of Nuneaton, Warwickshire, and his wife Mary Dugdale.
