My direct line of Shady ancestors has been traced to Pennsylvania in 1800 with the birth of REUBEN SHADY; he ended up in Jackson Coo. Iowa sometime in the early-mid 1800's. He had a younger brother WILLIAM Shady, who went from PA, to Ohio, to Indiana. Family lore has it that one of the Shady's, supposedly in Reuben's line (not sure it wasn't Wm's) had his/her marriage license or certificate signed by Abraham Lincoln. Has any other Shady descendant heard this story, or know which couple this was?
