Just wanted to update you in our newest information. The will of Jacob Grim that I previously told you about has led us to Pennsylvania. I know that this is not actually Shady, but since William Shady married Jacob Grim's daughter, Susannah, that leads to speculation as to whether the Grims and the Shadys might have known each other in Pennsylvania. Jacob was born in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, moved to Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, then to Northumberland County, Pennsylvania till about 1803 when he moved to Pickaway County, Ohio. Now I realize that would be just after William & Reuben was born, as well as William's wife, Susannah, but I still thought it was worth letting you know about.

Other spellings of Shady that I have ran across are:
Scheddy and Schiddy (cause the typist couldn't read the former spelling with the "e"). And when William applied for his land patent, he spelled his name Shaddy.
