the reason you get the info on lebenon is because of bill shaheen who is a prominnant political figur. the roots of your last name is in the persian word of SHAHHEN, MEANING THE EAGL. THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF MIGRATION FROM THE OLD PERSIAN EMPIRE TO INDIAN SUBCONTINENT, AND MIDDLE EAST. YOUR ANCESSTORS PROBABLY MIGRATED FRO THE OLD PERSIAN IMPIRE TO INDIAN SUBCONTINENT AFTER ARAB INVASION IN 711 AD.

"Muslim name"?!!! Muslim is not an ethnicity it's a religion. I know Shaheens who are not Muslims. Shaheen is a Persian name. It could be a Muslim or non Muslim. It means falcon as you mentioned.

Hello! George Shaheen was my grandfather. Unfortunately, he passed away 7/11/98. He was a wonderful grandpa to me and my 4 cousins. We affectionately called him "Poppo" and he lived in Fullerton until he died. His brother, Joe, lives in La Habra. His daughter (my mother) Lisa, lives in Riverside and I live in Brea. Hi, my name is Robin Ruth Urban and, I am looking for birth family information. My father's name was/is Charles (Charlie) Shaheen and I believe he was born in Cleveland Ohio. His mother's name is/was Ruth Shaheen (possibly Mary Ruth). She was probably born in Cleveland as well. The Shaheen family was originally from Lebanon. My birth mother's name was Lila Lee Watson Fox and she and my birth father were together sometime between 1956 and 1961. I was given up for adoption at the age of 3, and my name is Robin Ruth Urban, my adoptive parents names are Arthur Louis Urban and Ruth Marie Berger Urban.

Hi Denise. My greatgrandfather was George Barkie, son of Joseph and Margaret Barkie. George was married to Mary Shaheen in 1886 in Muschgarah, Lebanon. George was born in 1872 and Mary was born in 1881.

George had a brother named Kalil Barakay and a sister named Yesmin Bozied both of which settled in the Detroit, Michigan area. George and Mary settled in the Williston, North Dakota area. I had the good fortune of knowing my greatgrandparents but know little of Kalil or Yesmin.

George and Mary had 11 children, 3 of which were born in Muschgara. The other 8 were born in this country. George immigrated to the US in 1902 and later sent for his wife (Mary Shaheen) and their 3 children in 1907. Their oldest child was my grandmother, Effie. Effie married Fred Zine of Ferzol, Lebanon.

George died in Williston in 1954, Mary died in Williston in 1966 and Effie died in Sacramento, California in 1993.

Any info on John & Rosa (Haram) Shaheen & their kids: Joseph, Anthony, Helena & Josephine would be much appreciated. I want not aware when this particular family line came to America, but they did come from Lebanon.

A long story but basically, I am an investigator working for an attorney. The attorney is involved with an insurance situation and he has asked me to contact the family of Mal Sheheen.
We believe the family would be entitled to an inheritance from an insurance policy. I did some research and found your father had died in 1993 in Panorama City, California. I was unable to find any leads to his family so I posted to the Ancestry/Rootsweb message board.

The Rosa/Rose Haram I am related to could possibly be born January 20, 1893. And died in March 1967 in Easton, Northampton, Penn. - If you are familiar with social security numbers, hers was: 188-24-5519. She married John Shaheen. The family had children in Penn. Unfortunately I dont know much about the name changings, although I am aware of it. I probably know less than you. However any info you wish to share if you think this is the person/family you are looking for, plesae let me know. Anything else I can do to help, just reply.

I am trying to find information on Malatius (Mal) Sheheen who would have been born in or around Ithaca, NY. I believe he may have moved to Calif and died there in 1993.

My first name is Shaheen, I thought what I know about my name may help you with your school project. The name Shaheen means royal falcon. As as first name it can be used for both male and female, however the female version is sometimes refered to as shaheena. As far as I know the name originates as muslim name. I hope this helps you

My grandfather was Joseph Shaheen Milhaim (changed to Milton when he came to the USA in the late 1800's) from Lebanon which at that time was Syria. Do you know anything about this family. He came to Ellis Island with some cousins and then migrated to TN and settled in KY. Would appreciate any infro.

My Jimmy Thomas died at 18 yrs. old at the Invasion of Normandy on D-Day. He was a scout sent ahead of the troops.
He did not have any children, only a brother 4 sisters. Sorry, but I don't think our two are related.Good luck with your searching.
