Anyone with information on Catharine Latta Shakespear,born 1809 in Dover,Delaware. She ended up in Montgomery county Ohio where she married George Washington Rockenfield Nov. 1832. I am trying to find out who her parents were. A relative has a letter dated 1914 from a cousin Sarah N. Shakespear, who said her grandfather was Thomas M. Shakespear. I know that this Thomas M. was on the 1900 Census of Delaware Countyy Pa. living with his son Alex Shakespeare, and then also on the 1850 Census of New Castle County Delaware in MillCreek Hundred, Thomas and wife Mary with children, Eliza Ann,Louis & Alexander was found. This letter didn't say who Sarah N. Shakespear's parents were. But it did say that her fathers great grandfather was born just 24 hours after his mother landed here in the U.S. from England. I would love to know if anyone knows of this Sarah N. Shakespear, she would have been born in 1895, she was working in a publishing house in Jan. 1914 in West Philadelphia.
