Matilda Shavers, 101 of England, departed this life September 5, 2007. She was known for her singing of "If I Got My Ticket Lord Can I Ride". She is preceded in death by her husband, John Shavers Jr.; children, Search Lee Van Buren, Leroy, J.W. Shavers; parents, Dana dn Willie Townsend; all her siblings. She leaves to cherish her memories; children, Octavia Wright, Ivester Sawyer, Elnora Roninson, Rosetta Hart; 44 grandchildren; 89 great-grandchildren; 48 great-great-grandchildren other relatives and friends.
Family hour Wednesday 6-7 p.m. at RObinson MOrtuary. Funeral Thursday 11 a.m. at Progressive Church, 9895 Hwy. 165, Scott, ARk. Services entrusted to RObinson Mortuary, 1201 Dr. Martin Lither King Jr. Drive, Little Rock, ARk., (501) 371-0111
