Hello my name is Brenda I was born a Shavers, my grand father's name was Charlie my mother name was Juanita one aunt name Mary Lou I had lots of uncles in Fl. Ga. and N.Y. most of our family that I know of is in Maddison, Greengboro, Union Point and Grasham Ga. please reply if you are related, we're trying to do a family reunion.

Matilda Shavers, 101 of England, departed this life September 5, 2007. She was known for her singing of "If I Got My Ticket Lord Can I Ride". She is preceded in death by her husband, John Shavers Jr.; children, Search Lee Van Buren, Leroy, J.W. Shavers; parents, Dana dn Willie Townsend; all her siblings. She leaves to cherish her memories; children, Octavia Wright, Ivester Sawyer, Elnora Roninson, Rosetta Hart; 44 grandchildren; 89 great-grandchildren; 48 great-great-grandchildren other relatives and friends.

Henry Bert Shavers

I am looking for information on Henry Bert Shavers marriage PRIOR to marrying Lovie Lee Locklin. He married her on 6/8/1928, but per his military record when he discharged on 5/15/1919 it stated his marital status as "married". He was born on 12/19/1872 and died on 6/18/1967. During his first marriage, he supposedly had 2 children, a boy and a girl. I am trying to find the name of the spouse, the children they had, and possibly any of the grandchildren they would have had.....I am a grand-daughter.

my Shavers family has Cherokee desccendents in it . But i don't have a were . three of my gggranduncle fought in the cicil war and were noted for there dark skin because of there Indians blood. can you help me . we are prpble kin . there father is said to have hid in the Sand Mts. of Alabama with his family during this time of the trail of tears. any information will be a help.

My father's grandmother was born Betty Shavers on 3/18/1885 and maried Squire Holmon who passed in October of 1919. Betty re-married Dan Davis in 1925. Great Grandmother Betty passed on 12/14/1981. Mr. Hysell. I am a grandson of Vena Ellen Shaver Field, Fannie Hysell was my grandmother's sister. Fannie used to visit my grandmother in Milton during the early and mid 1950s. She was related to the Lewis Family some way, I think Jimmy Lewis, as I recall. Fannie was a short women, as was here sister Vena. Maud Morris, another sister was taller. Fannie lived somewhere around Barboursville I think.

I lost track of Fannie. I have talked to cousin Patty (Byrd) Stribbling in California and you must be the one she referred to.

If you could email me that would be great. I currently live in Florida. I don't know where Fannie is buried. Can you tell me?

IN 1900 & 1910 CENSUS THE FAMILY NAME WAS SPELLED SHAVERS. IN 1920 THE FAMILY NAME APPEARED AS CHAVERS. COULD NOT FIND ANYONE AFTER THE 1930 CENSUS. HUSBAND PATRICK MARRIED PHILLIS MAIDEN NAME UNKNOWN. ON THE 1920 CENSUS THERE WERE 8 CHILDREN AND 2 GRANDCHILDREN LISTED.

Your message caught my eye because, we have the same name. My father was named John Shavers. He passed away in 1989. I have a brother named after our dad. My father was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas in 1910. He knew very little about the Shavers, because his father died before he was born.

Father adopted, looking for maternal/paternal family.

My father, Larry Lee Shavers, was adopted shortly after birth. He was born 7/7/57 in Houston, Texas and was adopted by Elaine McPhereson. His birth mother is Pearl Shavers and birth father was Billy Shavers.

I am not necessarily looking to reunite with anyone - unless of course they would like to reunite with me. I am, however, looking for information to build a family tree and to see where exactly I came from (descendants and such).

I believe my Grandfather Jonny Lee Shavers was born in Fl in 1920 He moved North to Toledo Ohio Not sure when ! I believe he was in WW2 possible in Navy.

To anyone who knows of Jonny Lee Shavers He was born in
1920 to a Ramsey and Eva Shavers. He was born I believe in a southern state maybe Forlinda. He was in the WW2. I believe maybe in the Navy. He move up north to Toledo, Ohio Im not sure if the exact year He also had a son named after him who died of what Im not sure of.

Hi, In my grandmothers Bible, my grandfather was Clint Elgin Shavers. He was born in Humphey county tenn.His fathers name was Mike Shavers. My great grandmothers name was Liza Elgin Shavers. I know my grand father had a brother named Pat, Bert also his sisters name was Mirdy or murdie, and one named Mary. My mother is named after Mary. Also aunt Murdie raised my grand father cause my great grandmother died given birth to him. On my grandfather and grandmother got married it said my grand father Clint was from Johnson city or Johnson county. My mother said the Shavers was from Nashville tenn. Middle Tennessee. Hi, my name is Sissie Rivers. My grand fathers name was Clint Shavers, his fathers name was Mike Shavers. My g grandfather Mike lived in Johnson county Tenn. My grand father Cilnt Elgil Shavers married my grand mother and moved to Tiptovville Tenn in Lake county. I know my grand father Clint had a brother named Pat. Looking for decendents of Henry Shavers born around 1894 and July Shavers born 1884. Lived in either Moss Point or Pascagoula, MS. My deceased father Robert Shavers lost contact with his family in the 1920's or 1930's. He may have had brothers and sisters. Henry Shavers was his father and July Shavers was his uncle.
