Does anyone know if he had a second wife after Elizabeth Bowers Shed died (apparently in Jan of 1699? Source please. There are children born after that date, or does anyone have any source (other than someone else's tree or World Tree) that she actually died then?

SUDDEN DEATH -- On Monday morning a man named
Geo. SHED, whilst working at the windlass on a
shaft claim near Central Hill, fell down at his
post and expired in a moment without a struggle.
He had not been sick a day for many years, but on
the morning above named, complained of feeling
slightly unwell. He is supposed to have died from
heart disease. He was a temperate, industrious and honest man.

I am looking for the Shedd/Shed families living in the Beaverdam area during the early 1900's.
In the 1920 Census for Beaverdam, Oglethorpe, Georgia
Dudley G. Shedd is listed. I believe the G. stands for Gilbert
Dudley is living with his wife Blanche and his mother Harriett E. Shedd. Both Dudley and his mother were born in S.C. I believe in the Oconee Section of S.C. if I have the correct family.

If this is the correct family, Gilbert would have the following brothers and sisters: Ella, Ida, Della, Clarence, Henry, Merret, and Hubert. His mother would have been Harriet Elizabeth Thrift Shedd and his father would have been Hiram Thompson Shedd all of Oconee Co., SC

I am looking for any information about Nancy S. SHEAD who married Stephen RICHARDSON on Valentine's Day 1830 in Mansfield, Bristol, MA. The vital records of Mansfield list both bride and groom as being of Mansfield. Many other records of Richardsons are listed but this is the only record of a SHEAD/SHED/SHEDD. According to the census for 1850, Nancy would have been born about 1809 or 1810.

Following an illness of nine months, three of which she was confined to her bed. Mrs. George H. Shed passed away at the family home in the Browning community 4 miles south of Copperas Cove. Thursday morning, Sept 19 at 5:40 oc'lock. Her condition had been serious for some time and she had been treated in a hospital in Temple and also in the Rollins Brook hospital here. Mrs. Shed, whose maiden name was Miss Alice Burns, was born in McCulloch county Jan 13, 1881. She came to the Browning community with her parents when she was a girl and was married to G.H. Shed on Dec 23, 1899. Four children were born to this union: Myrtle Shed Morris, Jesse Thompson, Albert Ervin, and George Harvey 'Hobb'. She will be buried at the Toby Cemetery, Oakhalla, Burnet Co. TX (Lampasas Newspaper 19 Sept 1939)

ROCKDALE — Graveside services for Danielle Casey Shed, 27, of Somerville are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Tobey Cemetery in Oakalla.

The Rev. Joel Stevenson of Tanglewood Baptist Church will officiate.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mrs. Shed died Saturday in the Beaukiss community of Williamson County as a result of an auto accident.

She was born in Houston and lived in Somerville for four years. She was raised in Lexington and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell Shed of Beaukiss; three sons, Casey Lynn Anderson, James Robert Supak and Robbie Shed, all of Beaukiss; three daughters, Tabatha Ann Marie Shed and Cheyenne Michelle Shed, both of Beaukiss, and Sharon Kaye Supak of Somerville; her mother, Evelyn Marie Komar of Somerville; a brother, James Scott Vannatta of Somerville; a sister, Sonya Straub of Hearne; and her grandparents, Maxine Kinnamon of Garrison, Texas, and Lonnie Alvin Smith of Grand Prairie.

TANGLEWOOD, Texas — Graveside services for M.R. Shed, 73, of Tanglewood are set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Tobey Cemetery at Oakalla, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. Shed died Tuesday.

He was born in Lampasas, Texas, and was a self-employed house contractor. After moving to Tanglewood from Sugar Land, he specialized as a roofing contractor. Mr. Shed was a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church in Tanglewood.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Shed of Tanglewood; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Douglas “Butch” and Nita Shed of New Braunfels, David Lynn and Teresa Shed of Smithville, Texas, and Darrell Mabry Shed of Austin; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Joe Baron of Canyon Lake, Texas; a brother, Charles Shed of Fairchild, Texas; a sister, Margie Dreamer of Arcola, Texas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Bartel, pastor, and Walt Parry officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Mr. Shed was a real estate broker and co-owner of Shed Realtors. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Janie; five children, Donna Brown and Larry Shed, both of Houston, Susan Herb of Abilene, Gary Meador of Amarillo and Karen McGahen of Pampa; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Hubert Shed and Clarence Shed, both of San Antonio; and a sister, Mattie Mae Biem of Lampasas.

The family suggests memorials be to Calvary Baptist Church, 900 E. 23rd St., Pampa, TX 79065.

Shed in Williamson County, TX

I am searching information on a link I may have found connecting me to the SHED name. My gggrandmother, Julia E. Bowlin Copeland was married to my gggrandfather, William H. Bowlin and were living in Williamson County, Texas in 1870. She was born in April 1843 in Georgia. (I believe the "E" stands for Emmaline or some form of that name.) They appear in that census with 4 children, the first born around 1861, so I assume they got married shortly before that, but I am not sure where. I had been going under the presumption that her maiden name was SHELL, but kept running into dead ends with no information. I finally got a copy of her death certificate and it shows her father's name to be SHED and from Georgia. (No information on her mother). Her first husband died in 1873 and she married Jasper Newton Copeland in 1875. In the 1880 census, her name could be a nickname and it is difficult to read but could be either "Sally" or "Janey".

Does anyone have any information on this person? Do you know anyone who might? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Further Information about Joseph Shedd M.D. can be found in the Shedd Family Book by Frank E. Shedd published by Higginson Books. This is the Daniel Shed Genealogy published for the Shedd Family Association. If I can look anything up for you, let me know.
