I am related through William Eldridge ARMSTRONG who married Mary Jane Montgomery.

Any information on this family would be helpful. I do have more info on the Montgomery's that I will share. J.P. owned two farms, one in Parker County and one in Jack County. As Indian troubles permitted, permanently located in Jack County in 1852, where he resided till he died. Scouted on the frontier of Texas during the Civil War.

Elizabeth Shehorn supposedly went by her mother's name of Shehorn -- it is thought is was because she was Native American if that makes any sense.

Sarah Elizabeth is often listed as Elizabeth Shehorn in census. He is often listed as J.P. Montgomery. Sarah's maiden name is thought to be Red Elk but I have no proof of this. Also, Shehorn is said to be her mother's name. She supposedly married a Mr. Ball and had one child Neomah by him.
