About me and my SHELLY connection: I have at least two SHELLY ancestors and I believe they have a common ancestor,
Abraham SHELLY of
Bucks County,
Pennsylvania.
My first SHELLY connection is Jacob SHELLY, born ca. 1732, m. (1) a
LATSHAW (died between 1770 and 1776 in
Pennsylvania) and had at least one son, Francis
LATSHAW SHELLY, born 1 May 1766, who married Barbara YODER; m. (2) Barbara
LANDIS.
My second SHELLY connection is Christian SHELLY (who may be a brother of Jacob above), born ca. 1736 in
Pennsylvania, died circa 1815 and married ca. 1750 Susanna -----, who died after 1793. They had at least one daughter, Mary SHELLY, who married [Rev.] Jacob

SHOWALTER.
My genealogical studies began officially in late January 1976 and much of the time since then has been in used pursuing my southern U.S. lines. I spent some time during a family reunion circa 1980 going through cemeteries at East Swamp Mennonite Church and West Swamp Mennonite Church at
Milford Square,
Bucks County,
Pennsylvania. I spent some more time going through U.S. Census records recording all SHELLY and
SHELLEY entries. I then let the data sit until 1997. BIG mistake. I look at those census notes and shake my head in disbelief. I returned to the cemetery at West Swamp in May 1997 and re-recorded the data from the headstones there. Many of the inscriptions have disappeared during the ensuing 15 years or so. IÂ’m glad I recorded the earlier data, but regret not recording all the data. My goal this year and next is to re-look at those
Bucks County Census records.
