Arthur C. Shepard, 88, formerly of Fruitland, died Friday, April 14, 2000, at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction.
Services will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Prince Swamickan of the Island United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Island Cemetery.
Mr. Shepard was born on Dec. 4, 1911, in Muscatine, the son of Asa and Emma Hunter Shepard. He married Dorothy M. Wilson on Oct. 28, 1938.
He was a member of the Island United Methodist Church and former Sexton of the Island Cemetery.
He was a farmer and farmed in the Fruitland area.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Shepard and his wife, Marilyn of Fruitland, and John Shepard and his wife, Alice, of Boling Brook, Ill.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Bernice Zimmerman and Mae Brugman; and his wife, Dorothy.
