In a post by Elaine Morris on 15 Mar 1999 to the GenForum message board. She gives a Congressional bio of Matthias Shepler of Stark Co., Ohio. Matthias was born on 11 Nov 1790 in Westrmoreland Co., PA. At the end of the post a note stated Matthias was a likely son of Abraham Shepler.

In checking the Children of Mathias Shepler and wife Margaret Houseman Shepler, their son Abraham was born in 1779 which makes him too young to be this Matthias Shepler's father.
Mathias Shepler's brother Philip did not have a son Abraham listed in his will and I do not have a complete list of Peter Shepler's children.

If this Matthias Shepler was the grandson of Mathias in Rostraver Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA, then he more than likely was a son of Mathias's son John. I am hoping to hear from anyone who can identify Matthias Shepler's father and mother. Thanks
