William Shepperd

I recently found out Emeline Ann Mann born in South Carolina 1815 was first married to William Shepperd. I am not sure of the spelling of his last name. They were married in Alabama.

For 50 years we thought Shepperd was her maiden name.

Does anyone have these people in their line? Emeline Ann Mann is one of my few dead ends left. Emeline had the following children and I wonder if some were from William: Lee b. 1836
Frances 1842 Joseph 1844 and Elizabeth 1850.

Thank you,
Dawna

Ira S SHEPPARD b. 8 Oct 1826 New York, d. 9 Mar 1917 Minnesota

Ira S Sheppard, born in Cattaraugus Co, NY, and died in Renville Co, MN, was my 3rd great grandfather on my maternal grandmother's side. I've lost his trail in MN. I know that he moved his family from NY to MN in the 1860s, but I can't find anything that connects to him prior to that. There ARE census records of Cattaraugus Co prior to the 1860s, and there is an Ira Shepard (spelled with only one "P") listed who would have been about the same age. My instincts tell me it's the same man (and family) and that somewhere between NY and MN an additional "P" got added to the family name. I can't prove it, though. Nor can I conclusively connect the two men as being the same man. Ira was married to Marjorie Van Vliet. If somebody out there has anything that might help me either connect Ira with one "P" to Ira with two "P"s or help me pick up the trail going backwards to NY I would be extremely happy to hear from you! Thanks for your time.

I have received your message. I haven't done alot on the Sheppard line. Lewis Sheppard was my sister's biological father, Lewis was married to my mother and shortly after my sister was born they divorced. My father adopted her when she was a baby and there was no further contact with Lewis. However, I was able to find that Lewis passed away in 1997 in Iverness,Florida. Lewis was also born in Bridgton, New Jersey in 1928. So the lines are probably somehow connected. Hopefully, this will help you some. If you have anymore questions you can e-mail me at rbcjas@aol.com.

I know that you posted a long time ago, but we could have common link. MY gggrand father -- AUGUSTUS H. SHEPPARD 1818-1906, was born in Bridgton, New Jersey. He and/or his family moved to Meadville PA sometime before the 1870's. I have been researching this line for sometime, but have only recently found out that he was born in NJ and not in England as I was told as a child. Please contact me if you get this.

Mary Ann Sheppard/Shepherd and William Fisher London

Hi!
I was hoping that someone reading these boards may be able to help me unlock this riddle.

I am looking for any information which may help me learn more about or add parents/etc to the following family:
William Fisher b. ABT 1829, likely in Shoreditch London
d. ABT 1876 (as per children's admission records to Barnardo's)
Married to Mary Ann Shepherd b.ABT 1830, possibly in Ipswich
They married 22 August (or April) 1852 at St Philips Church, Bethnal Green, London

Children: Elizabeth Fisher Abt 1858
Caroline Fisher Abt 1861
William Fisher ABT 1862
George Fisher ABT 1867--went to Canada w/Barnardo's
Edward Fisher ABT 1870---went to Canada w/Barnardo's

I have found the family on the 1871 Census in Bromley St Leonard as well as Mary Ann on the 1881 Census. However, I cannot find the family on the 1861 census.

As per William and Mary Ann's marriage certificate, William's father was named Edward Fisher and Mary Ann's father was named William Sheppard.

If you can help shed light on this family, I would truly appreciate it!

Kind Regards,
Jeni Fisher

Hello there, I really can't tell ya much about my Sheppard family. They are so confusing to me, I would love to learn more. I believe this branch of Sheppards were from Ontario Canada and came to the Va, then Ky area. I can't find any documentation of that fact as of yet. But the Louis/Lewis Sheppard that was my grandfather was born in WV but his father came from Canada I believe now. Lewis was born around 1892-1895 and he died in Logan, WV on Jan 31, 1950 he fell into the creek during a flood and drowned. He was a young man. He had a large family and I believe that he was a hard worker in the coal mines around the Ky area and WV Hope to hear from you. Thanks

I would LOVE to have ANY information about my Great Grandfather... Charles Maxwell. Who is your grandfather? We are related that's for sure. I am mostly interested in finding out about his wife, Lucille Brown-Sheppard, who would be my paternal grandmother. Charles and Lucille were the parents of my father, James Campbell, their youngest child of 9 (I believe) I have a picture of them! Do you have any? Please send ANY information. My mother and father divorced when I was 3 and I have never met any of them, except my father, James C. when I was 30. He died a few years later and I was never able to gain any info about his parents. send replies to me, Susan R. Sheppard-Knauff at info@northwestpretties.com . I sure do appreciate it kindly. Thank You.

My grandmother was Mary Etta Sheppard Morrison. She was born in 1888 at Sulphur Springs, TX. She was the 11th child of Robert Kesterson Sheppard and his wife Emily Barge.
Robert Kesterson Sheppard was born in 1847 in MS. I have the names and birth dates of their other children if you would like to have them.
Unfortunately, I have no info that goes back further into the Sheppard name.
