Does anyone know of a Shepperd family living in Brazoria County, Alvin, Texas in 1960? I was told they were taking care of my mother, Josephine "Josie" Elizabeth Cain, and trying to adopt her at one time. This was probably around the late 1950s. Several years ago I found a small cedar box that was given to my mother and inside the box is inscribed:

"Jo Cain - I give this jewel box to you this April 14 day of 1960 as a token of my love. Mama Shepperd, Alvin, Texas."

If anyone can help identify "Mama Shepperd"? One gentleman had emailed me a couple of years ago and knew this family in Alvin, TX. I believe he said the Shepperd couple were divorced, but I'm not certain. Mr. Shepperd was possibly a deputy in Alvin.
