Robert Dean Sheriff - 1957

I am trying to trace my half brother -
Robert Dean Sheriff was born 13th November 1957 to Sylvia Agnes Hayes and John Reginald Sheriff
in 1969 Sylvia and Robert left England and went to Australia and never made contact with 'Reg' again.
If anyone knows the whereabouts of Robert please let him know I am looking for him and direct him here.

Hi Sandra. Nellie's maiden name was Sheriff. I remember her telling me that she came from Newbury, Berkshire, England. I remember also that her birthday was January 1st. She was in her 80's when she passed away in 1968, so she was probably born sometime in the mid to late 1880's.

I believe she had at least one sibling - a sister named Julie or Julia. Julie's married name would have been Berry.

If you want help to trace her family you will need to obtain her maiden name which might be on the marriage cert. to ------ Furman then we can find her year of birth and subsequently her parents.

Hello! I am one of Nellie's grandchildren. I am the son of her daughter Gladys. I believe that Nellie was born in Newbury, Berkshire, U.K. I don't know what year, but her birthday was January the 1st. She died in Newmarket, Ontario, and I believe that both her and Thomas Furman are buried in Park Lawn Cemetery in Toronto.

My mother was born in Germany under the Sheriff surname. All of the relatives are from the area close to the Czech Republic and Austria in the mountains...primarily Mannheim area.

My mother was born in Germany under the name of Brigitte Sheriff in 1945 to Lilly Sheriff (unwed mother). As a young girl, she was taken from her family by the American troops that occupied Germany after the war and sent to Kinderheim Simon in Konigstein Ts. From there she was adopted to the US by an American couple. I know of an Aunt Edith and Uncle George that still live in Mannheim. I am looking to learn to full story of what happened to my mother and her brother Eric.

I'm a descendant of George Thomas and Jugalima Sheriff, through their son Abel. I'd also be very interested in information about their parents. From the 1790 census, it appears that they were born in Ireland (you probably have this information, but I thought I'd mention it).

Thanks for your message - I live in Stourbridge and have done extensive research on the Sheriff / Sherriff lines - but this person is illusive and we have the same Father so I would like to find him.

Hi I married a Sheriff from the worc area, we live in Wordsley, Stoubridge where a family called Sheriff owned a village shop, although I don't think we are related to those Sheriffs as my husbands family were farmers in Bromsgrove (very near to Stourbridge) area.

I was talking about a married name.
I show a Jacob (b. 1834) (my g-g-grandfather), brothers Daniel, John and William. I also show a Louisa. I saw in the 1880 census that there was an Ellen Reed (a teenager) living with Jacob's parents, Samuel and Catherine.
It is definitely possible I could have missed Rebecca. The name Reed is raises some interest.
I have been researching the Sheriff name, but Schuylkill County, PA doesn't give much info.

Are you talking about maiden names or married names? I ask because my rebecca sheriff (maiden name) had several siblings, 2 of which are jacob and daniel sheriff

my rebecca sheriff married William Reed.

if you did mean maiden name, then i guess my rebecca is different than your ancestor.
but they could be connected in some other way.
where did your sheriffs live exactly?

Do you know much about the "sheriff" name? As stated, it's an old english name. hOwever, there's some evidence that in that region, it was really changed from scherf (or something like that) and they were all germans (though i don't know from where in germany). They were all lutherans I think.

I am trying to find Robert Dean Sheriff, he was born in Stourbridge Worcs, England. I believe it was about 1956/58. He was rumoured to have left England for Australia when he was about 12 with his Mum Sylvia Agnes (nee Hayes)

Finally, some info on Sheriff.
There were 2 Rebecca Sheriff's. One was married to Jacob, my g-g-grandfather, and one married to Daniel, Jacob's brother. I show Rebecca being born abt 1843 and Daniel abt 1852.

I am looking for information about the families of Jane Sheriff born about 1846 in Bristol, Gloucester and her husband Thomas Rossiter born 1842 in the same area. ( Place & date of wedding unknown but would guess about 1867)

They had a son Tom Rossiter born May 5th 1868 also in Bristol, Gloucester. He married Elizabeth Evans in Pontypridd, Glamorgan on October 14th 1890.
