I am looking for any information that others may have on James Shield who married Ann Kirk in Stanhope, Durham in Feb. 1812 (on the 16th or the 22nd depending on the register one trusts). Does anyone know anything about his birth or christening, parents or siblings?
I do know that he had a son (James b. 25/3/1820 in Stanhope) who married Isabella Fryar on 1/1/1841 and emmigrated to Australia in 1854.
