I am researching my wife's family and I'm looking for informaiton on Delany Shifflet who was born in Virginia in 1826 and married Lydia (Nee: unknown). They were the parents of (at least) Francis, Mary J., Sarah E., Catherine, Caroline and Frank "Fred," all of whom appear in the census' of 1850-1870 in Dover Township, Bureau County, Illinois. Frank was born in Bureau County in 1862 and married Hattie TALBOT.

I found Delany in 1850 living next to Garland and Peachy Shifflet, who may have been his parents- but I can not find conclusive evidence of this. Can anyone help me sort this out? Thanks for whatever you can do!
