Try looking at the Baptism records. Sometimes you can find info there.
You have not written where you think he was born? Maybe someone else may be searching the same family as you and they may have some info!

Hi Iam looking for help, Where can I look for William Shingles born in about 1800 to 1810, he is only on a 1841 census with wife and children, no birth on here (ancestry), I don't know where else to look.
Hope someone will give me a hint, and the first son is nowhere to be found.

the name catwalliker is from an officer in the contenical marine corp during the revolution. this was explained by my father who had it as a middle name.

My father & my grandfather both were named Samuel Catwallcker Shingle. My father was born in Philly.

Gary L. Shingle, Sr. Gary L. Shingle, Sr., age 64 of Millcreek, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 9, 2007 unexpectedly , Gary spent last week doing what he loved, golfing and bowling with his friends, boating with his family and most of all, spending time being “Papa”. He was born in Erie on December 15, 1942 a son of the late Frank and Virginia Stewart Shingle. Gary was a proud member of the 1960 class of Academy. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He had been employed at Steris Corporation until his retirement in 2004. Gary was a member of the Erie Yacht Club, Erie Maennerchor, lifetime member of the VFW Post 470, Siebenbuerger, South Erie, Knights of St. John and the Sunflower Club. To cherish his memory, Gary leaves behind his beloved wife, Carol Malinski Shingle whom he married in 1964, his son, Gary Jr and his wife Michele of Lake City, his daughter Mary Lynne and her husband Jonathan Zimmerman of Medina, Ohio and a half-sister, Marge Zerbe of Erie. Gary is further survived by his granddaughters, Emily Shingle of Dover, Del. and Abbey Zimmerman of Medina, Ohio. Four step-grandchildren, Kristina, Mark, III, Breann and Kaitlynn and one step-great-grandchild, Alijah. He will be sadly missed by his father-in-law, Stanley Malinski, his sisters-in-law Nancy and Becky Malinski, Marge Huber and her husband Bob and Teri Baker and her husband David and many nieces, nephews and friends. Gary was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he cherished his ’67 Camaro and loved his two dogs, Mollie and Cassea. He truly appreciated the love and support during his illness from family and friends. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc, 2502 Sassafras St from 2-5 and 7-9 and are invited there for the service on Thursday morning at 9:30 followed by the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church/Bread of Life Community at 10am.

Hi Susan. Do you have dates for your Shingles? My Eliza (could be Elizabeth) Shingle was born 2/25/1805 and died 11/6/1885. She was married to Levi Murray and they had the following children: Cyrus, Elizabeth, James, Mary, Charles, Priscilla, and Levi.

Trying desperately to find out where Eliza comes from.

My Shingle family were in Chester Co. Jacob Howard Shingle w/Clara Richardson, sons, lester, clyde, roy, daughters christine, marjorie, clara (maybe more). Jacob's parents were David Shingle and Barbara Pawling. This is where my brick wall starts. Any info would help.

Hi Suzie, My name is Carol Shingle from Willow Grove, PA. My fathers name was Joseph L. Shingle and my Grandfather and Grandmother were Joseph and Marie. They lived in Rockledge, PA. Does anyone know if the Shingle name is of Jewish German origin? Or what is it's origin? I have a great great grandmother Shingle possibly from Ohio. Her name was Johanna Shingle b. 2/25/1841. I haven't been able to find anything on her particulary yet. Any info please email!

My G Grandfather's name was James Hurst. He married Mary Ellen Shingle and they lived in PA. I understand he worked for RR and was also a police officer. They had 4 sons, Albert, Charles, Russell (my grandfather, born 10/10/1896) and one other son.
