Deborah Kay Shirey, 47, of 135 Selfe Road, Mill Hall, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008 at the Williamsport Hospital.

She was born July 21, 1961 in Lock Haven, the daughter of Lewis and June Wagner Strouse, who survive in Mill Hall.

On Dec. 19, 2003 in Montego Bay, Jamaica, she married John P. Lavrich, who survives.

She was a 1979 graduate of Bald Eagle-Nittany High School. She began working for the I. Lipez Warehouse as an office manager and remained with the company through 1990.

She had been a real estate agent for the past 17 years with the Fish GMAC Realtor Company, during which time she became a graduate of the Real Estate Institute and an Accredited Buyer Representative.

She purchased FISH GMAC in Lock Haven several years ago. Earlier this year, the company merged with Kissinger, Bigatel & Brower of State College and Deborah was the managing partner for both the Lock Haven and Jersey Shore offices.

She was a member of the National Realtors Association.

She was a member of Faith Fellowship Church, Jersey Shore. She was also a member of the Rotary Club, Downtown Lock Haven Business Association, Clinton County Economic Partnership and the Clinton Country Club.

and husband,
she is survived by a son, Dean H. Schmidt of Mill Hall; a sister, Julie Brungard of Mill Hall; two brothers, Joseph of Hublersburg and Joel of Loganton; and five nieces.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home Inc., Flemington, with her pastor the Rev. Steven Coran officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Bethel Cemetery, Lamar. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
