An interesting post. I had always assumed that Connie was the daughter of Fannie, guess I've been wrong! Connie's included in the household of her grandparents during the 1930 Federal Census of Iredell County along with two of her 1st cousins, Ralph Shoemaker and Dorothy Shoemaker, of similiar circumstances. Connie's father is listed as unknown on her birth record.
I always had Annie's name as Annie Belle Shoemaker, as that is the way she's listed on her birth record and marriage license, both recorded in Iredell County. My file has Lena as the middle name for her sister Fannie.
Guess you've already contacted Constance Owens with out any results. Too bad no one thought to ask before it was too late.
