I'm trying to piece together some information on my great-great-grandfather's mother, Charlotte Emily Shores b. abt 1840 who lived in Somerset County, MD. There's a record of her marrying Francis Lokey, and in the 1880 census it looks like they had at least 5 children together, the youngest being my great-grandfather, born in 1878.

But there is also a record of her marrying a Robert Jones in 1860? That doesn't make sense because my great-grandfather was born later, and I know for sure that Emily Shores was his mother. Also she appears with Robert Jones in the 1880 census.

I'm wondering if they are somehow two different people, or if there's an error and she actually married him around 1880, not 1860.
