I am a from the Shores line that came from Germany and Switzerland. They have lived in North Carolina and Virginia. My great or great-great Grandmother (I don't remember which!) was a full blooded Cherokee indian possibly a cherokee princess!. If you have any info please get back to me and I hope this helps.

I've just begun a search for Shores ancestry. My grandfather is Benjamen Lee Shores and his mother was Fannie Paten. They both died in Georgia. Think his father was David Shores but cannot find info on him yet. I am searching for the Cherokee blood also. My grandfather was originally from Missouri DOB 1892. The Native American blood is strong in him and his children so believe he was half-Cherokee.

Carl...We've spoken re: YDNA on Shores lines. I am tracing the female Shores in Lee Co. Ga..circa 1840-1880.
When was your Jane Shores d/o Jonathan Shores born? I'm looking for Jane Shores b. abt 1804 in NC who married Wm. Bodiford (Bodderford). Any help on MY Jane who had at least 2 illigitimate children who were 'fortunate drawers' in the GA land lottery of 1827. Two other daughters, Sarah & Elizabeth Bodiford married 2 Gill brothers & moved to Navarro Co. TX abt 1873.

HMM! Inever knew there were possible mohawk blood in our family. My grandfather John Stephen Warren Shores was cherokee as was his Father Jasper and so on and so on. If you want any more info on my Shores family I would be happy to share it with you!

Actually there are at least two tribes and possibly more within the Shores family just within the last 150 years. While your grandmother may have been Cherokee, my gg-uncle Andrew Jackson Shores married his cousin's(Jonathan Shores) daughter, Jane Shores, who was half Mohawk. Jonathan's wife, Lucy Wilkerson was full Mohawk Indian. Not everyone in Tennessee was fighting the native american people in the early 18th century:)

I have recently received personal y-line DNA test results that indicate Native American blood within the Shores family--father to son, father to son, etc. What the test does not tell me is what tribe, etc. It is most assuredly in our family.

Hi my name is Jamie Shores-Hackett. I have info on the Shores family. My great grandfathers name was Jasper Shores he married Ida (shores). His fathers name was Albert Lucian Shores. Albert's father was named William Albert Shores and his mother was Martha c. Haney(Shores). Albert also had siblings their names are as follows. Living Shores

Meletha Maberry m John Shores on Apr 08, 1852 in Greene Co, IL. See FHL Film #1310037-1310038 of Green Co, IL County Court Records.

1850 Greene Co., IL, Between Macoupin and Apple Creeks (page 20 stamped, 39 written) has the Maberry family (#259) as follows:

Need help with parents/line of Andrew Jackson Shores of Allen Co. Ky

I am the g granddaughter of Andrew Jackson Shores who married Biddie Ann Lamb.

I have found in census/death records that his father was named William T. Shores and was born in Macon Co. Tennessee.
William T Shores married Malinda E. Travelstead (Travelstreet,Treffenstate) in 1870. I believe William's mother may have been named Sarah / Sary (1860 census). I cannot find anything about his father.

I am at a dead end in trying to go back farther with this line. I know that William T. Shores is buried at Rough Creek Baptist Church 4-6 miles south of Scottsville, KY (unmarked grave to my knowledge--I couldn't find it!)

All my work has been through Ancestry.com as I am 8 hours away from Allen Co. KY and TN paper records!

I'd appreciate any help on this line!

Moses A. Shores was my Grandfather. He was married to Christina Elva Lantz. They raised their family in Wayne County Indiana. They had 3 sons, 2 daughters. My mom is the youngest daughter, Phyllis Ann Shores. She is 76 years old now. The oldest son Jack died a few years back. He was a firefighter in Richmond Indiana. The oldest daughter Elven died back in the early 90's. The middle brother, Gene lives in Florida as does my mother. The youger of the brothers lives in texas.

My Greatgrandfather, James Shores was born abt. 1862 in Bristol VA, Washington county. He married a Virginia Barb in Sullivan county TN October 19, 1881. They had 7 boys. My Grandfather was Moses Arbram Shores. I need help finding who the father of James Shores was. And any other information you would like to share. Virginia Barb's mothers name was Ellen Barb. The Shores family moved to Richmond Indianam, Wayne county around 1912. I was told they may have lived in the KS area. The boys born to James and Virginia Shores, Forrest, Ernest,Millard King, Edward, Kyle, Lee, and Moses Arbram.

I am transcribing the Evergreen Cemetary in Ontario, Malheur Co., Oregon and thought I would post pictures of the Pre-1900 headstones for those interested in having them. I have information on the Shore/Shores family of Lincolnshire. I am eager to share my findings with other possible descendants. So far I can trace back to William Shore my 5x great grandfather B1795 Branston Lincs. His mother is Ann Shore but I dont have a husbands name. Ann later married William Walsham in 1797 Branston.

W. R. Shores, a lineman employed by the electric company, was electrocuted while repairing wires in the rear of the new Lee Building at Oklahoma City last week.
