Bourbon County, Kentucky, has the honor of given this gentleman birth and he is certainly a fair sample of the “Kentucky gentleman”. He was born in 1837. In his boyhood days he adopted Missouri as his home, settling in Jackson County, one of the wealthiest counties in the state. He was educated at the State University located in Columbia and fitted for all the requirements of life. He came to Texas in 1875, selecting this city for his permanent home. A prominent figure in all Terrell enterprises – intelligent and active worker in the interest of all laudable undertakings, he is regarded by all as a useful and influential citizen, and ornament to our social circles.
