Ethel B. Shover (OH, IL 1905 - 1956)

Does anyone have information on Ethel? I have a 1928 marriage license for Ethel to Edward Yearman. Edward died soon thereafter (before the 1930 census, I believe). I can not find Ethel in 1930, nor any information thereafter.

I believe she may have married into the Jaroski family afterward.

Was there a Mary Shover or Mary Gordon that was married to a Shover or a Napoleon Gordon that you might know of in Richford, Vermont? There are several Shovers buried in the All Saints Cemetery there and buried next to my grgrgrandfather Napoleon Gordon is his wife Mary Gordon Shover, Most documentation of her is of Mary LePage. Wondering if your Shovers in Enosburg are related to the ones in the cemetery that I found?

Emily Francis Shover, nickname Emma, b. 5 Dec 1878, in KY; D. 3 Jul 1947 in Greenup Co., Ky. mar. Noah Randolph Fraley; 0n 4 Apr 1897, he was b. 5 July 1875, in Elliott Co., Ky to James Fraley and Matilda Bare, Noah D. 5 Jul 1930. Both Noah and Emily 'Emma' are buried in Bennett's Chapel Cem., in Greenup Co., Ky. My understanding is that Naoh & Emily had a total of 15 children, I can't not locate all of them, this is a brick wall for me. I understand that the last one of their children was Noah Alfred Fraley, who passed away in Nov, 1999 in Noblesville, Indiana.
Your Ellen, b.abt. 1904 and mar. John Allen, may had four daughters, 1.Garnet, mar. Unknown Roe, 2.Bessie, mar Unknown Roe, (may be brothers) 3. Emma, mar. Unknown Stevens, and $. Mary mar. Browing
I also understand that it has be reported that Matilda Bare is believed to be Cherokee Indian.

I'm looking for Gregory family ties into the Shover family. My g-grandmother was Mary Shover (1896-1965) Mary's mother was Emma Jane Price - Shover - Peffer. Mary married Ralph Gregory about 1910 in South Fork, Pa. and they had 5 children: Francis 1912-1984 (my grandfather), Donald Gregory 1914-1968, Gwendolyn Gregory 1916-living, Jean (died at 7 years), and James William 1919-living. Mary divorded Ralph around 1927 then married Arnold J. "Midge" McCoy. They moved to the Detroit, Mi. area and had 7 children: Robert 1926-1992,Mary Lou b.1927, Maxine b.1928, Emma Jane b.1930, Corrine b. 1933, and Sally b.1936.
Any info on the Shover side would be greatly appreciated.

Seaching for information about the family of Alvah John Shovers. He was b. about 1846 in OH. Married Sept. 1867 in Muskingum Co., OH to Leah Ann Swank. The 1870 Muskingum Co. Census shows one daughter, Sarah J. Shovers b. 1869. Obit of Mrs. Ann Shovers mentions two daughters and only names one, Mrs. Thomas White.

there is also another Andrew Shover. My g-g-g grandfather was Andrew Shover, born in Pennsylvannia. His father was Michael and Michaels father was Johannes. Andrew married Sarah Ely and they lived in Berk Co. Pennsylvannia until they moved to Iowa around 1845-1850 with their children John and Tom Shover.

I found out that there is a "George Fields" In the line some where! Also a "Wilbert Oram McEwen and a Ella Sarah"
Also found out that Asa and Freida were not married.
They have Children Wilbert-Frances-Freida-Mildred-Emma-Ella,

Betty, Andrew Shover,is my gg grandfather, my g grandfather is Benjamin Franklin Shover, and my grandfather is Edward Martin Shover, (1888-1946). You was also asking about Wm. Sherman Lewis who married Nancy Virginia Shover the D/O Andrew. Wm Nancy had 11 children. They are both, buried in the Greenlawn Cem., in Portsmouth, Ohio. I got some information on all mentioned above, would also like more information on the Lewis family. Do you know if Wm. Sherman came from Morgan County, Ky, to Ohio? That is what I have from family history.
I also have a Francis Marion Lewis and His brother Wm Lewis who married into another one of my ancestor's line. These two brothers married two Cannaday's sisters.Francis M. and this William are buried in the Lewis Cemetery in Morgan County, Ky. I would love to find how these Lewises all ties together.

Justin, Thanks for your reply, I think Andrew was a common name for the Shovers. My is Andrew Martin Shover b. 14 Jan 1817. died 1890 in Greenup, KY. Buried in a unmarked grave in the Bennett Chapel Cem., in Greenup, KY. Andrew went by the name "Martin" Shover. It is reported that Andrew Martin was born in PA., in the 1870 and 1880 in Greenup Co., Ky.
He is believed to have been married twice 1. Emily Martin. 2. Francis Ellen Carter.
In both census he is listed with his second wife, Francis E. who is 36, and Martin was 53, in 1870. Children listed are: 1) John Henry, 14; 2) Benjamin F., 10; 3) William R., 7; 4) Annie, 5; 5) Nancy J.,3; 6) Joseph A. 1.
I have information on the spouses and children on all of Andrew Martin's children that is mention above. Benjamin Franklin is my g-grandfather.
I can not locate Andrew's parents, that is the brickwall for so many of us who are working on this Andrew Martin Shover line.
